Lasik eye surgery, should I do it?

About 3 years for me, have to wear specs in front of my pc
Had astigmatism so wore specs 24/7

Sucks that I still need to have specs, but still worth it considering I don't need it when out and about.
I got a 2nd opinion from another optometrist and he was not impressed by the first optometrists work at all

Wasn't aware optometrists could perform the procedure.

I researched ophthalmologists beforehand and ended up with a well known individual that also did my mom's cataracts.

Had mine done 1.5 years ago. Don't regret doing the lasik surgery.

Only issue I have is night time driving with lights still having a halo around it but I can live with that.

Yeah i keep hoping that it will just disappear when I drive during the night:ROFL:

I thought about going back for a touch up surgery but I don't want to take the risk and open the flap again.
 
I had mine done at the Pretoria Eye Institute. This was in 2010. Still going strong. I have a feeling my sight is not as good as it was after the op but still way better than before. Quick procedure. Painless. Would definitely do it again and recommend it.

Cost was about R21k

R21K in 2010 ??? Imagine the price now.
 
I had a form of ICL's (implanted contact lenses) done about 3 years ago.
Vision has been pretty good from where I was, and I can get the lens removed and a new one put in if/when vision deteriorates.

I am not sure how this works with far sighted or if possible, I recall that I will be stuck with reading glasses when this happens.

No sharp pains in the eyes ?

They don't do it on teens. If you do it later in life, you have to factor in that your eyes will probably regress regardless.

been wearing glasses since I was 7, got myopia and different levels on both eyes,
recently changed prescription, but not willing to go risk taking on something that has a chance to mess up my eyes for life.

you only get 2 of those your entire life, there is a risk when they open the cornea flap, and zap your eyes, that it wont improve anything,
thats the bit that worries me
 
Lasted about 10 years, have to wear specs for reading only. Was worse before.

I havent known anyone that didnt praise it. Used Dr Hill next to Kingsbury Hospital, Claremont CT
