Last nights Win 10 update - beware.

Which build are you on?
I think mine is still original build

Totally screwed up my desktop. After install and restart, all I got was a flashing screen. I managed to get into my control panel and do a system restore. All sorted now, so there is some bug in the update.

Just my 2c.
We had 2 machines also messed up here this morning - one was giving BSOD and the other would not load user profile.

when will people learn, Dont update till all the little problems are fixed
especially when it comes to Microsoft and their f**ups of late.
Yup, that is why I wait a few weeks or months, Im happy on my original build and just leave it
The PC at work I dont care, I will hit that update button quicker than you can get an erection in a brothel.
If the PC breaks it breaks, just log it with IT Support

My old pc, which I replaced in June was running an i5 3570k, did something similar in that it "stuttered" every 2 seconds. It basically froze for half a second every 2 seconds. After a restore it worked.

How old is your pc?

I had the exact same issue on my system last night with Windows 11, reinstalled my nVidia driver as I thought it could’ve been that.

best idea here,
I actually thought you knock back a drink, before you hit the update button @Pineapple Smurf
but I guess you have needs like anybody else  no judgment here.

Guessing it didn't give me any issues at the time.
Both home PC and laptop running the same version.

I can honestly say that only once did an update break something and that was a Network share.
