Lastpass Free - big change

I have log in for work at about 1000 online stores, not transferring all that.

It is easy to import,

but user's choice apply. People who are happy with Lastpass may stay with Lastpass.

Thanks for this information. I have just signed up to Bitwarden, migrated all my passwords and deleted my Lastpass account.

Nothing against Lastpass but I just don't feel like paying :D

This choice from Lastpass is either very stupid or a brilliant move

I got my mail within seconds of registering. Maybe a typo when you registered?
Nope, got the welcome email.

If I register through web I can't log in through Android app, Register through android app and can't log in with web

Edit: NVM, checked again was typo. Autofill on browser had email address wrong

Beginning March 16, 2021, LastPass Free will include access on one device type of your choice. The first device you login with on or after March 16 will set your active device type.
-If you choose computer as your device type, LastPass Free will work on all your desktop and laptop computers.

- If you choose mobile as your device type, LastPass Free will work on all mobile devices (Android and iOS)

More detail here:

So make two lastpass accounts?

3 laptops, 2 PC's, 2 cellphones. So no

Question is: what is a good alternative to lastpass?

Thanks to everyone for the advice on alternatives. I have been playing with BitWarden and KeePass for a few days. They both seem to work very well once they are properly set up. KeePass needs a fair amount of fiddling with add-ons and plugins to get it just right.

I'm still not sure which one of these 2 I will continue to use in the long run.

KeePass can be used as a total stand-alone system, with the password database on a cloud server of my choice, but it needs a fair amount of fiddling with add-ons and plugins to get it just right. It also does not have a separate category for bank cards.

BitWarden's setup is straightforward, but it is not as optimisable.

You should use KeepassXC. Or just use bitwarden and backup to keepass once in a blue moon. Not sure what optimization BW is missing.

Thanks to this LastPass thing and moving to Bitwarden I had lots of passwords to add into Bitwarden, luckily the Bitwarden PC app was helpful, and it helped me get rid of things I did not even know I had.
Accounts set up years ago and only used once for something
