Latency in wow

I get around 280ms at night...never get that during the day though.

I get around 700ms on shaped :eek:
 
To Europe (because you did not specify American or Eeropean versions)

Shaped = 550 -> 1500ms depending on your luck.
Unshaped = 290 -> 490ms depending on your luck.

I am on a 384 line, which gets an automatic artificial 20ms penalty from my PC to the first gateway, which a 4MB/s line does not suffer from. Thanks Telkom! :(

Not all unshaped products are of equal quality, and, if they are doing okay on week one, suddenly on week 2 they'll change and then on week 2.5 suddenly all will be fantastic again.
 
384kbps (with 2.5db line attenuation and 31.5db SNR) on an unshaped account I get around 280ms at best and average about 320ms during the day. At night it's a more solid <300ms

Shaped I get about 500-800ms

I use Web Africa's prepaid unshaped accounts, it allows me to switch between SAIX or MTN Business bandwidth without opening a new account. So if one is bad the other usually isn't. :)

Oh and I pay R99 a month for my internet (the ADSL rental part and I get 1gb free every month for the next 6 months).

oh ok i'm on the europe server only notice difference of 100 ms between my shaped and unshaped account

so i guess going below 250 to 400 is good

lol, this is the fun part...it should be 4096, but I get random speeds from 992kbps to 1800kbps :p

Still waiting for Telkom to fix it...

The telephone line is completely useless, can't dial a number at all and there is just a hissing sound and no tone...so there is something wrong, I'm pretty damn sure about that...
 
@Method im having the same problems, except my phone line is completely dead. My ADSL comes and goes every 10-20 seconds or so. Great. Apparently though, according to Telkom its "100%". Um. No. No its not. Also in the last couple of weeks my line has gone from 4MB to about 1MB. AWESOME!

Ok, now that rant is over, when my line was "stable" i was getting a ping anywhere from 220-500 to EU servers, main 2 servers being Trollbane and Ahn Qiraj.

There's a difference between line attenuation and SNR

SNR, anything above 30db is excellent
Line Attenuation, anything below 15 is excellent

Ye that is my line attenuation for downstream 48 db and upstream 31.5 db..

And I can't play WoW because of my very unstable line.
 
Dude either try a different router, get a different modus operandi to repel chicks, or move to something like 3g on one of the jackass mobile operators.
 
where are the days I got +-300ms on a unshaped 384 line now I'm lucky to get a constant 550ms on a unshaped 512 line
 
was whit axxess but my ms are the same as my saol shaped now got a afrihost 5gig and I get round about 600 most of the time 700+ in dalaran
