Latest available OS

Currently running 5.0.0.238 on my 8520 and have not picked up anything funny yet.

Much smoother and performance is better, but not so sure that battery life is improved.

My phone has been going since Midnight last night and battery status is 50% but the phone has been getting heavy usage today, making/taking calls, sending/receiving mail, Speed tests galore.

Hmmm the usage has been heavy so I am not sure what to say about battery life :erm:

Just make a full backup and then you have your safety net if you want to go back to previous OS :D

Hi w1tw0lf

Any chance you can find the actual 5.0.0.230 for the Storm 9500?

Crackberry talks about it here...
http://crackberry.com/leaked-actual-os-5-0-0-230-blackberry-storm-9530

I downloaded the .230 version you have listed, but it required .216 (which I can't find anywhere to download).

So if you can't find actual .230, where can I find .216? :)

I have a Storm 9500.
Was LOVING it until some sort of automatic update happened 2 days ago via Desktop Manager - now running 4.7.0.141 - but since then phone almost unusable! Slow missing calls 'cos I can't even answer, have done battery pulls, etc. but seems to be OS.

Much appreciated.

eermm anyone have the latest OS NOT on rapidshare? I already have an uncapped 4mbit account, I'm not paying for rapidshare too :)

Why not just put them all on a run-of-the-mill FTP server? I'll volunteer.

Trust me - a premium Rapidshare account is worth every penny on your 4mb uncapped ;) Every release, iPhone and BB I can found on RS - not too mention the other 90GB I got thru this month...

Here you go when page loads, click on skip, scroll down and click on megaupload. works, justed it and its for 5.0.0.216

Still no joy :(

What browser are you using? It just keeps loading adverts and never gets me to anything I can download?

Not to worry, after much Ctrl-Clicking and Refreshing, it finally got me to the file, downloading now, really hope the OS 5 install sorts my Storm out!

Tks

Pleasure ! it will definitly be a better phone :) just read onthe 1st post how to do the install.

I just got the Reload Software 507 error! Hasn't even been a week with the BB and I almost bricked it! lol..

Thanks ! Will start uploading what I have. Can others uploaad what they have as well ?

Managed to get the phone out of the white Reload Software 507 screen. I usually never (WRT to iPhone) restore old backups and instead install and sync everything myself just so the phone remains clean.

So I obviously lost my Service Books. I've been on the phone with Vodacom/Nashua Mobile since this morning and haven't had any luck getting them resent to my phone! It's weird cos my 3G and GPRS are in capitals but when I go to Service Status it states that BIS is not connected! I apparently have to wait till 4:30pm for the Service Books to arrive on my phone. Thought it was the leaked beta that I was running that was causing issues with the server, so I downgraded to 4.6.0.301 - issue still persists.

Back on topic for the MAC users, I received that error due to using Windows XP in VMWare. FIX: In DM for MAC uncheck:Automatically open DM when device is connected and in VMWare, click on Virtual Machine -> USB -> Connect Research in Motion Composite Device.
