Can someone pls explain why my Bold keeps on rebooting? It's weird, it's like 'Safe-mode' not really a reboot. It's so annoying cos then Device Memory needs to be repaired and I lose all sounds/ringtones.

I did remove memory card and did fresh install of v5 OS... Is this just because it's a leaked OS and not official??
 
It sounds like there might be something wrong with the device, i would suggested go back to 4.x.x and see if it does the same, if so then the device is damaged and need to be looked at.
 
I initially did do a device update with the memory card in, not knowing that it was supposed t be removed. But the second restore, I had it removed..

Will go back to 4.x - what a mission!
 
Unfortunetly the only way to do a proper test and if it still does it you can take it in as is and might get a warranty swop out as is.

i have the same problem, reboots constantly - need to downgrade as soon as i get a chance.

Read that thread - you will see that it's a problem with the Bold and OS 5... Everyone has been experiencing the reboots - going back to 4.6.x.x

Some guy mentioned that it's network related, when having 2G and 3G mode one. Apparently having 3G only on doesn't cause the reboot. This is obviously not possible with Vodacom, so downgrading.

Pity cos I went straight to OS 5 when I got the Bold - now I gotta downgrade to older software!! lol

I hope they release OS 5 soon!!
 
does anyone need to download these on a local FTP server? ill put it on for a limited time only. And only at night.
 
im so tired of this crap from BB. I swear they should leave the job of making phones to apple and nokia and friends. What a disaster. I have a new BUG every single day now ... *sigh*
 
Most important one for me was the "back" button on Vodafone SatNav not working.
 
Is this just on the bold or all other phones ? Know that my tour doesnt give errors as well as a friends 8900
 
I think it may just be on the Bold. Saw a post on Crackberry and the chap also had a bold.

Why are you blaming RIM? You chose to install a beta OS that they do not support, you can't expect a perfect system from a beta that is in no way official.
 
All beta's have issues - and they are in beta for a reason - so developers can report bugs back to RIM and they can iron them out in the official release. I used to install beta iPhone OS's and my battery used to last only 45 minutes... So stop complaining about beta releases and downgrade to an official release.
 
this piece of crap is now doing a new trick. Ok. here are my bug lists:

1. Hangs intermittently and for no reason, you have to just wait, or opt to reboot.
2. it then suddenly refused to receive email anymore. had to re-send the service books.
3. it then worked fine and one day refused to send email, saying there is no provider for it.
4. the sound is all stuffed up. it barely rings properly, then sometimes the alarm plays a sound, other times not. its like playing the lottery.
5. and tonight, the best of all. it heated up like a hot-plate, and the battery went from 1/2 to 0 in 30mins.

This is for sure, the last crapberry i will touch. ever. im gonna grovel back to Apple for another iphone.
