Latest available OS

Cool. Any idea what's changed?

Got the latest leak downloaded and installed this morning and I'm pretty impressed so far. It's so much slicker looking than .238 and all the glitches I found with .238 have been fixed. In my opinion, the official release can't be far off and won't be much better than this. This one (.348) looks and feels like the final product.

Can anyone confirm that .348 works 100% on the Bold 9000 and doesn't randomly reboot every 30 seconds like .314?

EDIT: Well i've been reading up on other forums, and apparently many people are still experiencing the constant reboot loops :( Giving it a miss!

I downgraded, but for other reasons: 1. The media card keeps getting "found". Rather irritating and 2. All tones would default to the standard SMS tone. I mean ALL tones. When trying to change these, I would get an error "tone not found" or something. I had very few reboots in the week that I was testing .348. How is .314 behaving?

Terrible! I had the exact same issues as you with my ringtones and the media card - I even deleted the BBThumbs.dat on both storages and this didn't even help!

I'm back to an official version - not willing to risk it! Nobody has found a solution @ blackberryforum yet....

I guess we'll just have to wait for an official release of 5 I guess.. :(

5.0.0.328 on the 9500 works like the bomb!!!!! Havent had any issues other than the minor display bug where the screen doesnt update properly when changing from portrait to landscape

All apps working like they did?

Also have no issues with .348 on my blackberry tour. Strange that it will give some many issues on other devices. Have any thought about running hybrids ? I am at the moment and must say it is the most stable os around !

I am also running 5.0.0.328 on my 9500 and very happy with it. After using it for a few days on a non-standard theme, I can confirm that the only issue is the white blocks on the main screen in landscape mode. I never used landscape anyway, because portrait gives me 16 icons, and landscape only 12.

Guys has BlackBerry OS V5.x come out OFFICIALLY for the Bold 9000 yet? I know there've been a few leaked versions but I haven't been able to find out whether there's an official release yet and where to get it? I'm still on V4.6

Unfortunately not yet. Official version is still 4.X. I don't think an official V5 is very far off though.

Well, my 8520 has been running sweetly all day on 5.0.0.348.

No hiccups that I noticed, all apps running as per normal, upgrade was painless, guess just keep holding thumbs but no issues to report since.

About Screen after upgrade

I have full backup to revert if anything goes south, but nothing yet so far, in fact it feels like a brand new unboxed phone :D

Anyone care to comment wrt the stability of 5.0.0.348 on the 9000?

It's about as stable as I am after 9 Jagermeisters :) The bugs get worse the longer you use it.

5.0.0.348

I would not recommend 5.0.0.348 on the Bold 9000. Random reboots every now and then. Im not going to downgrade. I think I'll wait it out, till the next leak.
Im on Vodacom, may be different on other carriers.

Cheers

thx w1tw0lf

Done upgrading my 8520 curve to OS 5, cant really see much of a diffrence. It looks quite stable for now will keep you guys posted.

Anyone else Upgraded their 8520 to OS 5? I'm kinda toying with the idea but want to know if it's worth it at this point.
