Vodashp, but you gonna get OS6.576, its not bad, just not the best/latest.

They will charge for it, and you need to go to one that has an onsite repair center else they will send it to JNB, will cost about R160 either way though.

9700
It routes me to the official BB site where I have to register and stuff.

I've had those before from crackberry too - just fill in your details and then it comes up with the download. From the last time I did my 9300, I don't think download managers work for those downloads.

Have you tried http://www.blackberryos.com/, when i had a berry i found them far more reliable then crackberry.

CranialBlaze is right. When I updated, that's the site I went to and they had it. In fact, that's the first site I go to when I want to see what updates there are and download them. The only thing is that you have to register, though. You can't download without an account.

Hi

I have got myself a 9860 (Hong Kong special - but still the genuine article). I installed a leaked version of 7.1.0.190 last night. This is the version that is supposed to include mobile hotspot capabilities. However, as soon as the phone is up and running, the hotspot feature disappears. I heard that this might be carrier dependant. Does anyone have any other info on this? I am with "big red".

I have a 9900 and when I try to load OS7.1 my desktop software says please load phone OS.
What could be the problem?

I'm on the same version on a 9900 on MTN, and WiFI hotspot works beautifully. Note though that is does NOT utilise your BIS plan.

I tried to do something here for SA blackberry users but can't achieved what I wanted to. Started my own support forums/website, if you want the address pm me please. Not sure if mods will allow me to post the address here.

This post needs to be updated.

AFAIK your "big red"doesn't support WiFi Hotspot. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Some service providers block the service books for certain things, like for example wifi hotspot.

I think its because they can't distinguish between hot spot data and on device data. So you wont even see the hotspot option on your device.

I saw on Crackberry that you can install the service book yourself but VC will remove it every time you restart your phone.
