Lawnmower blade bolt stuck

Well, it turns out I've gone and bent my lawnmower blade. The only issue is the bolt that secures the blade is really, really stuck. Anyone have any tips or tricks on how to get it loose? I've tried loosening it with a normal size 14 wrench and also a socket wrench...

cant remember which way it turns to take it off, might be the other way and what you are doing now is tightening it even further

Turns in reverse from normal bolts so you may be tightening it... All metal? Take a blow torch to it, warm it up a bit then try getting it loose while hot and once cooled off.
You could also try wd40/q20/tool in a can. Spray it, let it stand, repeat a few times then try loosen it. Lastly try leverage, stick your spanner in a pole and use that extra length to get it off.

Remove fan on top of motor, use bobejaan spanner their.

Or try with water plier to hold just on top of the blade on the shaft.
It turn loose like a normal nut anti clock.
Is it a southern cross. Apply some oil to the thread when you fasten it.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give a few things a try. Initially I did turn the bolt the wrong way, but found out it's counter clockwise...

All you ever need know:

Plus a knock with a hammer helps loosen bolts as well.

apply some heat around the housing the bolt screws into.. that should allow it to expand and help loosen the bolt..

That's too bad.. taken a torch to many a flywheel bolt when breaking down engines and after a little bit of heat, you could almost turn the bolt with your fingers... Almost...

You can also try loosening, tightening, loosening, tightening until it budges.

Doesn’t it turn the other way (clockwise to loosen). Otherwise the blade bolt will loosen due to same spin. I might be wrong. Haven’t replaced a blade in years.

I did 2 southern cross ones the other day, long spanner on blade, wise grip on top side of the shaft,[remove fan], two person, one use a hammer slightly, anti clock. Or Mybb style, buy an impact drill online, use it.

Quick question: When you try and loosen the bolt, are you turning the engine over?

Those bolts are set with Loctite...

at work for loctite we use acetone to loosen stuff, works like a dream.
If you dont have then steal your motchies nail polish remover, should do the same as it smells just as bad

Or use the magical mixture of acetone and ATF for a cheap DIY penetrating fluid
