thanks for that. can i ask why?
bigger is better im sure, but there are cost factors. if it just means my gardener needs to work harder?, or does it mean ill be replacing sooner?
 
Petrol is just constant maintenance and trouble, get electric.
I would not buy any of your suggestions, especially if your gardener going to use it, it will not last.
Trimmer just get a cheapish one, will probably have to replace every few years, but make sure you buy something with replacement parts available.
Lawnmower, spend way more and get a good Wolff or Rolux and it will last you a lifetime. These plastic things you going to replace often and soon it will cost you more than just getting a proper lawnmower in the first place.
 
I bought a Ryobi for our house.

It cuts the grass. Other than that its the cheapest, nastiest plastic you're gonna find. At 6 months old most of it is now being held together by cable-ties. But, it does still work...

Cheap mower will not last, You will also have it overheat or stop mowing if your grass is a bit too long,
It won't have efficient power to use with ease.
You will be frustrated.

Rather fork out a bit more and get a mower that will not give you issues.

As said, rather get a proper mower brand (Wold, Rolux) and decent wattage.

By the way, my mower is a Rolux at over 30 years old.
 
Have had one of these for close on 18 years (still the same spec!) - replaced the trigger switch twice, sharpened the blades once, went for a major service some years back and most amazingly, it's been through 4 garden technicians and still going strong! 600/700sqm garden with LM grass.

Does anyone know if Wolf, Trimtech and Tandem are all made in the same factory? I went to a few shops yesterday and the body and trim collectors are exactly the same just different colours. So would just picking a watt range and then grabbing the cheapest be the best option, or is it similar to the motor industry where similar metal presses are used but they use cheaper internals.

My concern is with cordless mowers they still somewhat new/in development. So if they follow a similar path as the drills and hand tools what i buy now will have zero support in terms of new batteries and parts in two years time. The tech would have changed so much that forking out 10k for a decent model now means forking out 10k maybe more in maybe 5 years time or less.
 
Buy mine if your are in CT as I am emigrating. Less than a year old, should still be under warranty. Wolf 1500w mover and a Wolf 900w weedeater.

I have a professional series petrol mower now for 8 years, yes it needs maintenance but parts are cheap and the maintenance takes 30 minutes before every season (new blades, oil change and new plug and filter).

I had carburetor issues with fuel leaking but that's also a quick fix. This originates from my gardener that doesn't clean the fuel tank before opening to add fuel, so I installed a petrol filter and did a decent carburetor cleaning. Have a small Stihl weed eater for close to 9 years, with almost zero issues.

My next investment will be a ride on mower, one of those Husqvarna units. Yes its expensive, but then I don't need a weekly gardener and my kids will fight to cut the lawn, so saving in the long run. The mower also doesn't take babbelas days.
 
Yeah i'm looking in the 2600w range. The Trim tech is R1000 less than the Wolf but they look identical from the outside. Thats why I wondered if they are actually thew same just with different colours and price.
