LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

So my 18 month young Sammy plasma is broken...

Panel is bjorked, no replacements plasma panels still in production so Samsung will replace the set. With what is the burning question?

When my 64F8500 plasma broke, Samsung swapped it for the 65HU8700 at no additional charge - at least a 10 grand benefit to me comparing prices at the time. I really wanted to stick with plasma and liked the F8500 very much, but in the end (yes even though it is curved) the newer UHD screen was a big step up.

It was? In terms of what? Only 4K content I assume? I looked at the LG OLEDE65 a couple of months ago and was not convinced it was any better than my 65"E8000 (yes, you had the later model) when it came to HD and sports.

Just got myself 55" UHD Hisense for R9k at game

And how you enjoying it?

Still no refund from Samsung, 6 weeks now!!

What a fcking joke?!!

I always believed paying premium price for a reputable brand would mean great after sales service, should it be required. How wrong was I?!! Might as well buy a Sinotec...

I harass them daily via email, have harassed them on Twitter, even logged a complaint on Hellopeter, fck all feedback!! They simply don't a give a fck. Period!!

I had the opposite treatment from Samsung, called them yesterday and within minutes a polite technician helped me through my issue.

What would be a decent mount bracket for a 65" tv?
I don't need swivel, just a tilt I guess.

Sanus which is available from Dion Wired and Vogels which you get at specialist AV stores are 2 good brands with a range of different models.

I have an aluminium Brateck full motion bracket for my 60" Plasma which is very heavy. I'm very happy with it, and hold the tv well, with a good range of motion, should you need it.

Hello Guyz, I need TV to rent. How do i get it and what must i do as well may i know the amount per month?

From where and how much?

From Hirsch's. R69,999. Got the free TV, as well as extended warranty for R4 000. Although this was because they made a mistake - they had told me that free TV and extended warranty came with purchase, when it was actually one or the other.

I stuck to my guns and told them they had made me the offer, and I had accepted, so they needed to make a plan.

I felt sorry for the sales lady so compromised by paying towards the warranty (but not full price).
