LCD/led/plasma specials

No dstv, actually no tv. We dont even get SABC reception in our living room and no gaming.
Living room is an open plan medium sized area, during the day the room is very light. Sun comes in through window behind seating area even with closed curtains.

If just for movies.. I'd recommend plasma, series 4. Giving no motion blurs etc.. But seeing your lighting is a bit of a twist up during daytime, plasma's could give some massive reflection issues during daytime viewing. Either...
A.) get those curtains double layers
B.) go for LCD/led.. My d550 is great even in highly lighted rooms.

The d550 are currently on special at game. Can't remember price, but u should be looking at between 4500 to 5500.

Do note, your standard refresh rate of 50hz is applicable to this panel, but it's not easy for the eye to pick up.. Problem is.. Once you do... It sticks and u'll notice it everytime.
I dont mind, it's not 'irritating' or disturbing (looking for the right word here), it's a great panel! Def one of the best quality vs. price!
 
I saw that Game got new stock in and its going for R3799. gonna buy it tomorrow on my Game card.
 
I'll scout around during my work break tomorrow for a good d550 32" price on the net.

I'd say they go for around 3800 to 4000.

If u find it cheaper, grab it and throw a pricebeat at it between the sellers ;-)

Best to check them out side-by-side if you can, to decide whats more appealing to you.

Excellent comparison thanks. So far the plasma seems better to me but I'll take a look at the Led when I'm in store.

You have the wrong way around, Game beats prices by 10% of the difference.

Foto Discount World will beat prices by 3%

I cant seem to see the d550 40" on the Game promotion leaflet, only 32".
