LCD Monitors

I have a 19" Samsung LCD screen with 2ms response time and I can play ANY game no matter what resolution (1280 x 1024 mostly) and I can sit for hours infront of it. Can't say the same about my CRT though...

Only reason I bought it was because it's softer on my eyes and I use my PC a lot!

The fact that it only weighs 3kg is a added bonus for LAN's :D

IMO a good LCD is better than a standard CRT. The top end CRTs do give a better picture than any but the very expensive LCDs. For general use including most gaming i would prefer a LCD anyday

LCD's have the advantage of space saving, draw a lot less on your UPS etc.
Gaming wise I see no real difference whether its a 8ms or 2 ms response time, unless of course you are a eye candy fanatic then you will notice that games with good graphics looks very good, but games with not so good graphics looks very bad and grainy.
Toxin that BenQ is a nice monitor and a lot better than most.
At work we have several ViewSonic's and recently acquired a Sony which although 8 ms, I'm very impressed with it, in fact if I hadn't already bought this fancy Acer, I would get the Sony, and it costs a lot less.

For the price I paid for it the BenQ is great. And for a LAN it's fantastic. :) I remeber going to rAge last year and bringing my entire PC in with one go. While the other guys had to make multiple trips. :p

Hmmm, thinking of getting another one.

I'm not against LCD.

I have a 37" BenQ DV3750 - its very nice for HD gaming, I must admit.

LOL

I'm happy with my LCD. At work we have 19" 15ms Mecer screens...not that bad either :) Still, I'm a gamer and I wanted the best that I could afford so I gor the Samsung 2ms :D And it save a lot of space on my desk or at LAN's (which for some reason, never has enough space on the tables :p)

37"!!!!  That's huge, dude!

I have just bought the Acer AL1951C 19" LCD which is a "gaming" monitor.
I purposely did not get a widescreen as many games dont run with the 1440x900 resolution and it even looks stupid in some modern games.
For development etc the widescreen is fantastic but thats where it ends.
The AL1951C is by no means the cheapest but there are others that are equally as good.

I also have one of those. It absolutely rocks. No motion blur, crisp imgaes, cool monitor.

BTW, finding an LCD with an RCA video in is no problem, lots of monitors have them, but they are expensive. If you are on a budget, forget about it.

But whats a DVI-D cable exaclty? Do any one of you have or use one?

If you keen on gaming, the samsung 940BF is awesome, 2ms.
Prices dropped a lot lately, pc int has them for R2k ex vat
