My Acer AL1951 is keeping me happy. Also has better colours and picture quality than my friends 2232gw.

I say the Acer. It's also 16:10. 16:9 is too wide for me.

Samsung, since 16:9 (or 1920x1080) is the proper HD ratio. With scaling, you'll have black stripes on a 16:10 screen, or you'll have stretched images without scaling.

Not worried to much about Blu-ray, really only use it for gaming....

Samsung.

The 2ms on the Acer is not the true response time.. mind you neither for the Samsung.

The Samsung also has no power brick, I think the Acer one does..

Besides, I only purchase Samsung now, ever since my nightmares with Acer, LG and HP..

True about the banding on the 22". Native res for 1080p content is 1920 * 1080.
Since the 23" does that in native, there is scaling taking place (and therefore a 'truer' picture).

So it's Samsung from me.

;)

I have had the same problem back in the days when the 940BF was king. In the end I got both Samsung and Acer only to discover that the best LCDs are Phillips ones with the PerfectPanel warranty. Just one dead sub pixel and they replace it for you. None of that 3 or more nonsense.

Excellent point raised !!!!

Warranty and pixel policy is very important.

Before you buy any LCD, check the details and fineprint

;)

Funny thing was when I went out to buy the 940BF (was at Incredible Deception) I asked them to switch on the unit I was going to buy in the store. Sure enough it had one dead pixel and one stuck pixel, so I asked for another - which was perfect.

I really liked the Samsung but a year down the line it got a dead pixel. For two weeks I tried all sorts of tricks to get rid of it but in the end I made a deal to sell it to a friend at work after pay day. I got myself a smaller Philips 107B7 with a Type-I (no defects) warranty. A day before I parted ways with the Samsung I put the two (Philips and Samsung) side by side the Samsungs dead pixel was gone !!!

I still use and love my Philips tho :p

Sorry but i think acer are stupid to be selling their monitor so expensive.

Read some reviews because everyone is just shouting samsung without actually knowing :).

I reckon i'll get the the Samsung then, save the extra bucks for something else... like maybe start saving for the samsung T260!

Ok so i can get the Samsung 2333SW for R1999(inc) - very nice price:D

or

The acer P243W for about R3300 - Quite a bit more, but its got 1920X1200 and 2ms response time VS 1920X1080 and 5ms response on the Samsung.

Eish ... which one??? Cheap but good or expensive and great

The 5ms vs 2ms counts for absolutely nothing. You will not notice a difference between the two.

Oh and I vote for the Samsung, which I have.

What connections does the Samsung 2333 come with? I read DVI and Analogue RGB? Is the Analogue RGB that three colour part connection. American site says DVI and VGA?
