LCD upgrade...does a matte surface spoil the image?

Glossy screens are only nice when the machine is switched off. They make the machine look pretty in the showroom but honestly who wants pretty instead of functional. Matte has no reflection and a truer picture reproduction.

I disagree. I love glossy screens they are so much brighter and pretty than matt

Ghei opinions don't matter.

Matte is definitely better. I've worked with both for quite a few years now. If I have a choice, I go matte every time.

Got a new lappie with a glossy LED screen on Friday. Best picture quality and colours I have ever seen. Dont know whether the matte LED screens are as good.
