LED vs Plasma

Brought a laptop with a glossy screen into my room to test the glare, placing it in the same position and facing it at the same angle that the TV will be. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Then again, I did test it rather late in the day. Hopefully getting darker curtains will counter it being worse earlier.

If I turn off the interpolation features, is it safe to say that I'll have a screen equal to that of my current 27" LCD in terms of motion handling?

Does anyone have anything bad to say about this screen? http://www.samsung.com/africa_en/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA40ES5600RXXA
Found it for R6300.

Anyone know how Samsung's numbering system works? I've compared these 3 and can't find the difference. http://puu.sh/2wmi3

EH5000 = standard.
EH5300 = standard + SMART.
ES5600 = standard + SMART + slim + wireless.

"If the frequency of the pulse-width modulation is too low...". Would that be due to bad manufacturing?

Either way, getting one from a popular manufacturer, like Samsung, will mean none of those problems.

Almost. I read about the Samsung F series LEDs releasing soon, and Samsung CT confirmed that it will be coming out in the middle of this year. It doesn't see as though the new products have anything worth waiting for though. The main feature, as far as I can see, is an increased standard CMR (from 100 to 200), which is something I'll be turning off, so definitely not relevant to my situation.

If I get something, it'll either be a 5000 E series LED or an E450 plasma (since the FHD one is outside my budget).

Hmmm... I don't recommend it, for reasons mentioned previously.

If anyone sees any bargains out there...

Got robbed a couple weeks back. Insurance found a loophole. Watching TV on an old CRT and movies on an old borrowed macbook that has a flickering screen problem. ARGH!!!

Something around 40" plasma or LED. Preferably Samsung as in my experience their media players play almost anything. Even looking at second hand :-/

What loophole did they find?

The main house is overinsured to the heavens. Problem is I live in a cottage that is connected to the main house but does not have a door inside linking it to the main house. So it's considered an out building and capped at 2% of the full house contents figure.

Yeah, thanks. So finding a nice TV at a good price will make me feel better haha.

Decided I'm gonna put off replacing my new PC a couple months. Will just eat toast until then or something.

After all your research and worries about genuinely inconsequential stuff, this would be the biggest mistake you could possibly make.

Either save the money until the E550 fits your budget, or buy the LED instead.

SauRoNZA - All the stuff I attempted to find out matters a lot to me. Just because it doesn't to you, doesn't mean it's the same with everyone else. I wouldn't have asked about it otherwise.

I am more than likely going to go for the LED. Just trying to find out what the response time is. Samsung ZA has yet to reply (after a week).

Update: Samsung e-mailed me stating that the response time is 100hz. Sigh.
