Leopard to be released 26th October....

Must be more reading involved.

I`ve installed windows probably more than 100 times.
Looking forward to my first time on a mac.

XP has run on my mac for around 5 months without being re installed, think its a record for me.

Hope Boot Camp is working properly on iMacs, there was an update released last week, hasn`t fixed all the issues yet.

So I can't find any sign that iLife '08 is included in Leopard, can anyone confirm?

I dont think they've ever included iLife as part of the OS - apart from iTunes.

hmmm... maybe its time to upgrade to the C2D 2.4GHz MBP, anyone know if there are going to be October refreshes, or is it time for new Mac Pro's?

Any news on when it will ship or are they spouting the normal "we gotta wait a month for Europe crapola"?

Have placed my order :)- they reckon they should be receiving by next week but before the end of the month at the latest.

Lets see what happens... :D

I have just recently got my MacBook Pro, do you guys think I should upgrade to Leopard immediately or wait it out?

$129 x 6.8 = R877.20

So they're making R102 on the deal, but they offer free couriered shipping.
Importing Mac OS X Leopard would cost an extra shipping and customs (VAT) fee.

What do you guys think?

Personally, I dont think it is that bad. I'll probably order the family pack from them depending on availability.

I wonder if there will be a suprise at the launch in terms of hardware. Perhaps the long rumored "slim" macbook.

If not then, i'm sure itll land before the end of the year. The rumors have been quite consistent.

If its nice enough i may rather go the slim way over a macbook pro come january.

We must applaud apple for keeping the multi user license edition (family pack) so cheap.

Cheaper than vista ultimate, thats for sure.

I really have no problem paying the local cost - just hope they arrive when they expect them to.

/* getting excited now...

Well I'm sure companies using RISC chips and running various flavours of UNIX (on which Mac OSX is based) are probably running more advanced
systems than Mac OSX.

Still even a feature like 'memory randomisation' - other flavours of Unix and
even Vista have it already.
