So, who else WTFpwned this month by iBursts 3x billing?

Had a look at my invoice, and to my horror, saw I'm billed for 3 months worth of subscription fees. There goes my budget for the month. They tell me its going to take between 7-10 working days to get a refund. Yeah right...

Guys, when are you going to sort your ***** out? The last 2 weeks, I've seen signal loss from 100% to between 30 and 60%. Now this.

Anyway,
So: anybody else this unfortunate?

Account detail please

Please send me your account detail so that I may be of assistance in sorting this out.

Thanks

lol in that recent iBurst You Tube video Interview with jannie van Zyl he said: "the double billing won't happen again...........hopefully"

guess it happened again jannie, only it's tripple billing this time and not double :erm:

This is how it works.

The company racks up expenses that it does not have the liquid to cover, they make an impromptu "interest free loan" from their customers. They go into your and say 500 other customers account, take triple the amount due, and cover their costs.

You wake up to an empty bank account, phone them and say : "Eh! What the hell?"
Poor call center schmuck says "very sorry, you'll get your money in x amount of days"

The thing is, only the ones that kick up a huge stink get refunds, the other people get credits on their accounts, making it possible for big company's to cover unforeseen costs interest free at the expense of the consumer.

TINFOIL HATS....SELLING TINFOIL HATS!!!!!! Get yours now! ;)

But on a more serious note, no, I have received a normal invoice from them, hopefully my bank statement will reflect the same.

Tinfoil hats?

he's right imo - Vodacom even have scams running (even if not under the name vodacom) where some "services" deduct money from your airtime/account...

most people don't even notice it and even if they refund the people throwing their toys around, they make a nice sum of money.

it happens dude - all that's needed is to refund the people to complain :o

I agree.

My biggest gripe is that they can take whatever amount they want on a debit order. That shouldn't be allowed. I think that the bank should ask you for authorization on any amount outside a predetermined range.

I had exactly the same problem with world of golf. They took 1.5k out of my account when they should of only taken R400. Strangely it was around the time they where completing their renovations...

/dons tinfoil hat lined with paper clips...

Dude,

You don't want to know what service I have had from this place.

When I first signed up it was for "pay as you go". I bought a 2nd hand desktop Modem from them which was paid for & delivered by iBurst.

I got my statement & I was charged for a new one (double the price). Because of the time of the month it was, I left just enough money in my account for them cos I don't have a lot of debit orders. Naturally the debit order was returned unsuccessful & I got slapped with a R90 or so bank charge.

What do they say?

Sorry Sir, we apologize for our mistake & as soon as you provide us with a bank statement & proof of the bank charges, we will refund you. I get paid way more than R90 / Hour. Now, I must because of their screwed up Admin, leave my place of work, drive out my diesel & go wait in a queue for a statement which will cost me more money so I can send it off to get my R90 back?

I mean, what are they smoking? The time & effort is way more than their R90 stuff up.

Then, a little while later, they forget to debit my account completely & after calling them & arranging for a double debit on the 1st of the next month, they debit my account 5 days before payday? (6 days EARLY)

Same thing happens again. "Sorry Sir" Warrara warara hanna hanna *$#@ *&@#!!

R90 gone again + Another unsuccessful debit order against my name.

The previous month as I am sure most of you know a lot or probably all of us were debited on the 16th of the month. And, I'll give you 1 freaking guess what happens again

- R90 cos of ANOTHER debit order unsuccessful.

I called them again & yes, you guessed it "Sorry Sir". I was too scared to ask for another double debit order cos they would probably screw it up & i was reluctant to do an EFT as requested cos watch, my account will probably be debited twice anyway.

Sorry my stuffing @ss. Stop screwing up you bunch of untrained, service lacking, only good for apologizing bunch of people.

Needless to say, I have to leave like an extra 1,5k ( 3 x my debit order amount cos they do triple debit) in my account. I now have to alter the way I do things to allow margin for incompetence because they are so unpredictable it's not even funny.

Oh ya, don't even try & ask the call centre people to speak to a supervisor cos they of no help & when you request to speak to their superior, they always in a meeting.

/end of rant

The complex I stay in is pretty new & Telkom have started laying cables & even though I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Telkom, I am willing to take the chance cos nothing can be worse then the service I have received from iBurst.

My advice:

Stay Away from iBurst. 3 of my friends were interested in them & asked me & I happily advised them against it. If you can do the same thing for a few people you know, you will be helping them out tremendously.

wow,
what incompotence from iburst!
I feel you pain though. Also had my fair share of issues the last couple of months regarding migration n stuff.

Anwyay,
I'll also discourage anybody I know (or don't know for that matter) to get iburst! It's just not worth it, even though it looks like a quick 'n easy sollution to getting connected to the interwebs.

I'm in the process of getting my adsl setup, and then its time for the task to get iburst cancelled. Luckely I'm on a month-to-month subscription, so if all goes well, the process won't be too painfull. /holdthumbs

Debit orders only punish the customer, whether it's the customer's fault or not.
They are in no way providing a useful service to either parties.

I simply cannot even begin to understand why companies insist on using them.

I was recently married & now we are going to start house hunting. Oh, & guess what will probably come back & bite me in the @ss?

Yeah, you guessed it. In my 10 years of working & having a PERFECT credit record, iBurst stuffs it all up with their 3 or 4 stupid mistakes that should NEVER have happened.

Thanks iBurst

A failed debit order puts a 6month hold on any loan applications. So yeah, you'll have to wait 6months for the "bad" record to be cleared before they'll even look at a homeloan application.

Good luck!

WHAT?
If this is true then I will recommend that people get it in writing, that the debit order failure was the issuer's fault.

Happened to me a year or so back. Also from no fault of my own, but the bank didn't give a sh_t... Just said: Sorry sir, come back in 6months...

Sue them! No company, no matter who they are, has the right to upset your credit record with their incompetent billing and stuff-ups!

Just speak to Shaun he will help to get it sorted pronto :)

You can get that reversed. How it works: The debit order bounces, it shows on your bank statement. Trans Union / ITC see that. Then Iburst notifies Trans Union / ITC that their payment was declined. You get a black mark on your credit rating.

If Iburst notifies them that it was an error on their part the it can be cleared.

note: The adding of the black mark is automatic, clearing it has to be done manually. loverly aint it.

Why? Nothing he does or can do will change my perception of iBurst. I might think HE is a helpful individual but iBurst will still suck big time in my eyes.

All that time on the phone, asking why & fighting!!! No thanks, not again.

Lesson has been learned & it will never be repeated.
