Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding a billing issue with eThekwini. Our water bill was estimated for over a year, then, after finally taking an actual reading, they billed us for the entire year at once, which resulted in a huge amount. Since then, they’ve put the bill on hold for investigation, and my husband has been asked to follow up in person at the end of each month, but there’s been no real progress.
We’d like to set up a payment arrangement, but we’re told we can’t do that until the investigation is complete. Meanwhile, we’ve been paying electricity monthly, but now we’ve received a notice saying we’re in arrears and the total keeps growing. I’m really worried they might cut off our services.
Has anyone dealt with something similar?
Any advice on how to handle this or get the matter escalated would be hugely appreciated.
