Err . . . Arthur C. Clarke 1968. Classic sci-fi literature.
Jeez!
It still doesn't consider our universe. The only moment where it becomes remotely sci-fi is where they say "In a galaxy far away"
It does overlap... they could have also made all the people in the story humans previously from earth and made Darth Vader a cyborg bent on inialating the human race.
Its not though... its a story about a boy with a sword who has to go kill his dad, along the way he makes some curious friends and has an adventure or 2
Thats fantasy. Its a Knights tale set in space.
So Mad Max was science fiction?
Post-apocalyptic almost always has something to do with the moral implications of science.
Atomic warfare
Alien invasion
catastrophic virus infection (also zombies)
Global warming/pollution
So Mad Max was science fiction?
I thought so... just had to check that the book was first.
2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 science fiction novel by Arthur C. Clarke. It was developed concurrently with Stanley Kubrick's film version and published after the release of the film
Now we're back to the sophistication/simple classification again.
How is "what if dragons/magic" different to "what if faster than light travel/killer robots", if it's set in our universe? Both are imaginary at this point in time.
Is anything outside our universe automatically fantasy? Cos then anything with parallel universes is fantasy...
Natural disasters...?
So Mad Max was science fiction?
What if parallel universes existed and there was an bizzaro version of every person alive in that parallel universe. -> Sci-Fi
What if parallel universes existed and star wars universe was one of them -> Fantasy
You make the assumption that the laws of physics in a parallel universe would be the same as in this one..
Well shouldn't they be? I mean it's a parallel universe afterall. Not a galaxy far far away![]()
You make the assumption that the laws of physics in a parallel universe would be the same as in this one..
Oh yes and The Abyss!
What about Mars Attacks![]()
Robots are something that could happen one day. Time travel is something scientists are trying to do....
No one is trying to invent magic or dragons... they are made up ideas... folk law. Fantasy
Parallel universe is a tough one.... Science fantasy ?
What if parallel universes existed and there was an bizzaro version of every person alive in that parallel universe. -> Sci-Fi
What if parallel universes existed and star wars universe was one of them -> Fantasy
Forgot that... its sci-fi... its something that could happen.
Thats the schnitz!! Love it!
