Hey guys - I'm thinking about upgrading my Chassis.

Currently I own a RAIDMAX Smilodon Black Edition, but I need something bigger. :D

What are cool cases?

I need something Big, with perhaps a big see-through side panel and 1 single "big fan" too.
perhaps a fan at the top, maybe different "zones"

need loads of hard drive bays - like 6?

I'm thinking of spending around R2000 to R2500 on it.

what are cool chassis you own and love, or want in the future?

is this a good chassis?

I obviously like the Sniper Storm, though you can only get 5 hard drives in. The new Corsair 600T is quite similar to the Sniper but can fit 6 drives but no side window. You'll have to upgrade to the 800D for that, but you do get 4 hot swap bays in front. Be warned though, air cooling on the Corsair 700 or 800 is not so great, they are built for water cooling. The new HAF X has 5 bays, and 2 hot swap bays as well I think, with superb air flow (hence its name). Cosmos is also a good case though a bit outdated I'd say.

Edit: @killa, get with the times, the HAF X is where its at now ;)

that HAF-X looks sccccchweet! whats the price?

Watch out for windowed panels... it might say the case can take a side fan but some windowed CM models can't. Discovered this with my HAF 922. Gonna upgrade to the CM690II Advanced cos imho the HAF 922 is not worth the money, unless you just after it's looks. Also the case has started to rattle quite a bit now over time.. assuming from vibrations

OMG it looks sick but F no more. I swore after this case that was it. Cools well with 4 120mm side fans.

Nooooooooooooo i will not buy another case FFS!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant seem to find the HAF X Case anywhere (even newegg) but they say it's around 150-200$ - doesn't sound like a lot to me??

Haf X was literally only released a few days ago. Contact you prefered retailer and find out when they expect to get stock. I'd expect it will be around R2250 max. You could also wait for the Cooler Master "prototype" which can house the EVGA SR-2 motherboard. But I have no idea when that will be out, and will prob be extremely expensive

I think the HAF932 is a great case - I prefer the CM Stacker though....

If you wait it out a bit you could get one of these, its coming on the market at $150, so it should be within your budget by the time it arrives in SA.

What more could you want in a case?

errr....maybe a *full* tower like the HAF-X ? That thing is a freaken monster!

but yeah, not a bad case at all....looks like good quality!

What more could you want in a case?

A bigger one? Even with a large case, when you first open it you are amazed at how big and roomy it is. When you put two or three top end displays in then it suddenly seems very small....

that antec 1200 doesn't look too bad either - I see it is priced around R2100 or so (just a quick check)

but a quick search reveals it is a bit noisy?

Keeper just a check, you want to do purely air cooled right? Then noise does come with the territory, but some cases will handle it better than others. The 1200 has lots of 'small' fans (IIRC) so thats why it makes so much noise.
