Let's talk Cologne

I have only ordered 200ml CK One from them in 2016. The bottle came unsealed without a plastic wrapping. The scent also seemed pretty watered down. Several buyers on Amazon also complained about such CK Ones circulating online which they said were fake even though the batch code checked out on CheckFresh.

However, I've noticed that Loot has two parallel import versions of their fragrances. One version has (USA) on the product title and usually has a higher "list" price than the non-USA parallel import. I suspect the USA parallel imports might be more genuine than the non-USA. My CK One was non-USA, which they might have imported from the same source people were complaining about on Amazon.

I have never bought any fragrance from them again, so I can't be certain.
CK One never has a plastic wrapping for some reason, I also experienced that when I bought it way back when and it was genuine. It's not the strongest, well at least modern formulations, CK fragrances in general are rather weak in my experience, I stay far away from them after many duds. The exception is Obsession which is a beast but not something I'm fond of.

Fragrances are either genuine or not at all, I would think the USA in the title is just referring to a different supplier but it is something to keep in mind.

I just ordered Gucci Guilty Intense Eau De Toilette (90ml) - Parallel Import R884, it's in stock with Loot so not from an external supplier. The price might be a glitch, not often a 90ml bottle of a popular Gucci fragrance sells that cheap.

3 Bottles left:

I know it well, it's a very nice fragrance, fresh then getting a little more dark and rich in the dry down, very versatile and also safe for office use, a bargain at R884, the typical retail price is around R1700+.

What's that?
lol...He's jokingly comparing the two German cities, Berlin and Cologne.

Thanks for clearing up the plastic wrapping issue. However, I could hardly smell mine on my skin after three hours.

I have never used any Gucci fragrance. Do let us know if the product is genuine when you receive it.

so is it not allowed to import fragrances from the US, or can one, but then get slapped with a heavy customs fee?

The Gucci from Loot was legit, Loot has a fairly wide range and some decent mark downs every so often.

Im currently using sex panther. Your all asking how it smells well like a 90s cologne with a hint of modern twist, it's a formidable scent.

How does it smell?

I find cheaper fragrances normally aren't well balanced or they will have one accord that eventually punches you in the face with its intensity and it becomes meh. Or smell overwhelmingly synthetic at some stage.

I put most CK and Azzaro offerings in about that zone or just above.

I've personally never been but I hear it's beautiful this time of year

Ive bought quite a few from Loot, and ive had no issues...

Many people assume that when it says Parallel import, that it's fake.. Parallel imports just mean that its been sourced from another country, without any sort of licence agreement with the manufacturer eg Calvin Klein. Plenty of discounters in the US, make use of this, hence why they can offer say a fragrance like Sean John unforgivable at $20.

But if you are a Woolworths, Edgars, or any other retailer, they will import directly from a distributor, and all sorts of mark ups and royalty fees are added, and then passed on to consumers, hence the sometimes ridiculously high retail prices..

You just have to take a fragrance such as Davidoff Cool water as an example. That fragrance today for a 100ml, shouldnt retail for more than R500 imo, same applies to CK One

The last Cool Water I bought was R625 for 125ml. It was 25% off at Dischem.

My latest buy was Armaf Milestone. Its a clone of Creed Milliseme Imperial, and a pretty good one. I love the fragrance. Its unisex, leaning more on the masculine side. Its a fresh, slightly fruity frangrance.

You shouldnt be so harsh on cheaper fragrances, but dont buy cheap designer fragrances. They are now boring. Try and buy fragrances from below, you will be blown away if you choose correctly.

Rasasi Hawas
Afnan 9pm ( this is so close to Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male)
Lalique Hommage Lhomme
Lalique Encre Noir and Encre Noir Sport
Mont Blanc Individuel
Sean John 3am
Reyane Tradition Insurrection Wild (Alternative to Mugler Pure Havane)
Ard Al Zafran Oud 24 Hours (an extremely close fragrance to Tom Fords Black Orchid)

I have a small collection of fragrances

R625 for a 125ml is good. Once you start paying closing to R1k on a dated fragrance, then you paying too much

Where do you Hawas locally. I'm keen to try it.

I have a few Armaf fragrances and they are brilliant for the price.

My scent of the day. Mont Blanc Explorer.

Just a couple sprays as I'm at home.

I'm on my 3rd bottle. i love it.

I also have Armaf CDNIM Parfum which is similar to this. The opening is quite harsh though,

Yeah it is good.
I had the Mont blanc legend and then saw this on sale at clicks, did a little reading and then went for it. Happy with it.
