I am looking for something to convert letters to their keypad number equivalent.

I want to create a speed dial list based on all our customers and supplier names.

IE:
ABSA Bank would be = 22722
Rectron would be = 73287

and so on.

There are about 200 entries.

Now I could do this manually but I don't feel like going mad today.

Is there a small program that can do this? or better, a vb script for excel?
I don't mind paying for the software, but it needs to be reasonable. $20 for a 1 time use is a bit hectic.

No, I don't want to encrypt the names, I want to be able to dial the first 5 digits of the customer's name instead of a random speed dial number that's just another thing you have to remember.

So the letters would equal the keypad value, so a,b and c = 2 d,e and f = 3 and so on.

Ascii code.
I am guessing u just want to convert the letters to numbers, plain and simple.
Here is VBA function.

letter_to_number = Asc("letter") - 64

Edit: Ok, i see you want keypad type conversion - sorry no dice.
Cant you program it yourself.
Like define:
redim x(10,1)
x(1,1)='abc'
x(1,0)=2
x(2,1)='def'
x(2,0)=3
...
Then search by using 'instr'
like
for i = 1 to 10
if instr(1,'yr letter',x(i,1)) > 0 then
yr_letter_to_number=x(i,0)
..
Can u do the rest or r u a vba noob.
