Actually I heard it live on radio and knew it was a joke. I think he saw a google alert come through and began talking about it, then had to think on his feet when he realised it was a mistake. Hence the kark joke!



I couldnt stand the UK broadcast either when I was there - very biased and the entire show is a dedication to British drivers. Annoyed the carp out of me. Remember too, that the facts and figures that Sasha uses come from a research department, not just from him - he may be the front-man who takes the flak, but mistakes are not his alone. In fact I have witnessed him correcting written stats that he received with accuracy.

OK, maybe I am a little biased and therefore defensive of the guy, but I still reckon he does a better job than anyone else I can think of to do the show.

I also heard about it on the radio. But a lot of his news comments have been inaccurate in the past.

Our conclusion jumping ?

Most are jumping to the conclusion or assuming that Sasha made an announcement about Lewis being fired. That is incorrect - he joked about it stating Vernon Koekemoer would be taking over as driver for both McLaren cars - see my earlier post about it.

Those who didnt hear the statement are jumping to conclusions regarding Sasha and using this incorrect statement to back it up.

Raikkonens sheer driving skill and determination - that coincided with a rookie that was over reaching .

@Pitbull - sentiment is shared as far as Massa's concerned - that oke has just been a deadweight as far as I'm concerned.

I wish Ferrari management would put a team together where both drivers are rivalling for the title. Massa winning one or two races in a year will never have me impressed.
Management should put a team together like the old days - Prost and Senna!

Put Alonso and Kimi in a Ferrari - I think there would be sparks that would be really great for the sport!
Massa can step down to Renault or bleddy A1 for all I care...

Sasha knew it was a joke - I think he just tried to play it our for what it was worth considering the Vernon craze.

The only reason some people misunderstood it as serious news was because him and Su were doing the gossip and entertainment news at the time. He interrupted her to reveal breaking news:

I'll admit his a good driver - but perhaps he should've listened to DC's advice about taking some more time out, before stepping into the fray of the F1 scene.

Naturally his 1st season and this one to date has been impressive, but the pressure that oke is under, was and is evident on the track.
Sliding into the pits, wanting to overtake on the 3rd corner when a GP just started with the entire field jostling for position and then shutting your car down.
Now knocking into stationary cars and apologising saying that you are sorry "if" you ruined that driver's race...please.

His a Nemo, thats stepped into a big ocean - if he doesn't get a title this year - his only gonna have another season before the media gives out on him and then his confidence will be at such a low, we'll see him fading to black. (No pun intended LoL)

All I'm saying is that, if he doesn't pull it off this year and doesn't pull it off next year either - his going to have the media pulling that young mind in several directions.
Sponsors don't pay for 2nd place. And the media will IMO get start looking for other angles to report on him. ITV.com though will continue to lick his ass.

That said an F1 career can last a long time, but the media is gonna have right old time with him if my predictions for the next 2 seasons are correct.


At the end of the day - I don't care for LH anyway... either I don't care for the bloke...
