Cannot get this printer to work even with general driver from Lexmark...

Anybody managed to get this working?

That is the Lexmark x5075 inkjet printer...

Lexmark will not offer any Linux support on this printer. :(

Yes I know, I should have checked it before buying it. Spur of the moment thing. Damnit. Well I will have to get another one then.

What I've done with my Canon 8800 scanner and Canon Pixma ip6220d printer is to install the drivers in an XP virtualbox. It is a cop-out, but at least I can use them.

I am going to try a swapout with a unit I can use... :) Doubt it will work, but will try my luck...

antowan, stick to hp & epson if memory serves me correctly.
Aavoid lexmark & canon as driver support does not exist for the most part.
Cannot go wrong with HP but it's always best to check before hand if the brand/model works fine in linux.

Ye, my Epson cheapy works fine, even without using the correct driver. But now my black ink is finished :( EDIT: lol, drivers have nothing to do with my ink being finished. hehe.
