LG G4

Indeed, that's what I'm doing. These early 2015 flagships don't seem to hold a candle to what I have already, feel like I would be downgrading.

I am looking to open a 2nd contract at some point this year and thought we would be in for a treat but nah, they are all average at best.

If you're wondering how you can upgrade your phone experience, check out custom firmware if you haven't already. Vanilla Android 5.1 is quite something.

Why would anyone but this when you can get the G Flex 2, which has the 810 processor, and for a better price. Don't really understand the thinking of LG on the G4

810 has issues like the over heating. I personally don't want such a massive curve on my device. You sure about eh price being better on the Flex 2?

Have you handled the device? I haven't but apparently it's really cool.

With regards to the pricing- Have a look on the orange store, it is a bit cheaper, probably because the G flex is slightly older

Haven't had any substantial time with it. But I prefer the candybar style. While I do like the G4... I haven't thought about without the S-Pen. Heavily dependant in it now.

Hi Bryn

Thanks for the advice man. I am an ex-modder (is that even a word? Ah well)

Used to be big on custom firmwares back between 2010 and 2011 on my Xperia X10 and GS2, used to do CPU tweaks and all, but these days I just don't have the time or patience, I no longer root and only customise my Widgets, even the wallpaper and lockscreen background are the default ones my phone came with.

For me it's all about how much you value your time. Taking some time to research which custom ROM is best for your device and how to perform the whole procedure can be time consuming, but it can deliver a user experience that would otherwise cost much more money to enjoy.

I use other people's Androids now and again, and whenever I do I am reminded what a good decision it was to root and flash custom firmware on my own phone. I would honestly take iOS ahead of most versions of Android on the market. Google really needs to get even stricter on what manufacturers are allowed to do to Android. It's not right that the vast majority of Android users will never know how good Android really is.

I agree with everything except the iOS. I would take the worst version on android over iOS any day. Yes even the bloated crap that is TouchWhiz.

Have you? My step-dad got an iPhone 6 and I played around with it for quite a while. The hardware is really amazing. I could just palm it around my hands forever. As much as I wanted to get into iOS, it was impossible for me. The biggest problem is the placement of the back button in the apps - it forces you to hold the phone awkwardly because it's at the top left of the screen. The App Store is another thing I intensely disliked - search results were usually nonsensical and each individual result took up the entire screen. Not being able to hide apps from the homescreen is also a bummer.

I don't own one, but having every one around me owning macs and iPhones and been playing with it since 2011 I can honestly say I'll take ios over android any day of the week only reason I have this k@k s6 is because if I get the iPhone I'll need the mac and so forth and I'm not 100% prepared to pay that cash yet.

Why would having an iPhone force you to get a Mac? Most iPhone owners don't have a Mac.

I really want to be an Apple fanboy. I love the idea of having a beautifully designed, well-made and matching phone, tablet and iMac. I like the cloud-centric approach Apple has taken too.

But try as I might, I can't bring myself to like OS X or iOS. And I need a system that can play games.

People that buy an iPhone because it's the latest graze are idiots in my eyes , sheep.

If you go iPhone and want to fully utilise the experience then a mac is essential.

Regarding games, nah I've out grown that phase

You can take advantage of most features of the iPhone with a PC. iTunes will backup all your stuff and sync your photos. Most online storage services have apps on every major platform. You're mostly just missing out on features like Handoff and Safari bookmark syncing. Although just using a different browser will solve that.

The average age of gamers is 31. It's not so much a phase as it is just another form of entertainment. Perhaps your tastes have changed and you just need to discover new games.
