LG G4

You can take advantage of most features of the iPhone with a PC. iTunes will backup all your stuff and sync your photos. Most online storage services have apps on every major platform. You're mostly just missing out on features like Handoff and Safari bookmark syncing. Although just using a different browser will solve that.

The average age of gamers is 31. It's not so much a phase as it is just another form of entertainment. Perhaps your tastes have changed and you just need to discover new games.

Not a bad point, my taste definitely changed I went from rocking counter strike and Cod in school as a religion. And the OC and rage was my church, then I started dota for a few years still play the odd game, but generally lost interest in gaming

I so badly want a decent spec laptop so I can start working from the top of table mountain etc.

My pc is too much power for me and just wasting space and power

Have you? My step-dad got an iPhone 6 and I played around with it for quite a while. The hardware is really amazing. I could just palm it around my hands forever. As much as I wanted to get into iOS, it was impossible for me. The biggest problem is the placement of the back button in the apps - it forces you to hold the phone awkwardly because it's at the top left of the screen. The App Store is another thing I intensely disliked - search results were usually nonsensical and each individual result took up the entire screen. Not being able to hide apps from the homescreen is also a bummer.
I've owned a 4, 4S, 3/4 x 5 and a 5S. The back button on the small size is fine for me - not sure about the 6/6+. The app store never gave me bad results. In fact, I find it much better than the Play Store.

PS, I'm not biased... I've had many more android phones and I currently own a Sony

So you owned a ios device for 2 atleast years and base that on experience or ?
Yeah. I don't want this to turn into that argument. Read everything and said everything about it already and in the end it comes down personal preference.

Just noticed a tweet saying launch event is tonight.
well it actually said "all will become clear tomorrow #LGG4 sent 20 hours ago by LG mobile SA.

would link to the tweet if I could, but at work I am blocked.

Anyone else excited to see the pricing of this one compared to the rest of the new devices out?
thoughts on being exclusive to one network like the G flex 2?

Don't think this one will be exclusive. The flex 2 wasn't the main flagship, which is different from the G4.

I'm hoping it goes well, as I'm due another upgrade soon. The G4 will be one of the phones I'll be looking at.

I have watched a few reviews, and it basically comes down to what do you want.
removable battery, SD card, fine tuned processor to work with the phone, get the LG, here is amazing camera stuff to sweeten the deal.
Fast camera for you #selfie! a metric ton of pixels and a few other tweaks to make it better than the previous one, get the S6
front facing speakers get the M9

you cant really go wrong with either (until the snapdragon 810 starts going ballistic in the M9 and S6)

I know I want a removable battery and an SD card, so I am going for the g4 (or the note 4 if the price is too high on the G4)

The S6 doesn't have the 810. It has Samsung's own chipset.

The M9, eish, I've heard bad things about it's camera. Basically the S3 beats it in tests... so I would definitely stay away from that one.

Looking at the G4, just to get something a bit different from Samsung... makes me feel dirty :D

same boat. got my Brother onto the G3 last year. I have had the s2 and the s4.
thing is I did not consider the g2 when I got the s4, and that was a mistake, it was the better phone.
I compared HTC one, Xperia Z and s4, and went with the S4.

now I am kinda obsessed with the g4...

but I am a sucker for leather :D

My next upgrade is the 14th of July... so let's see

G Flex 2 already running 810 snapdragon.

Have regrets on the G2 too. The S4 just launched when my contract was up for renewal, but the G2 was arguably the better phone, should have waited a month of two. The G3 is also nice phone, was tempted to get one in Feb, but decided to wait to see how the S6 and G4 panned out.

I still wonder how LG has managed to decrease the battery life in the G4 over the G3 even considering they went with a more efficient chipset? Weird. Still worthwhile upgrade just for the camera and SD storage. Manual controls on a camera is pretty cool!

Normal phone cameras give you auto settings or profiles to take photos with. This one as all the options overlayed for you to adjust a la a DSLR camera.

Srsly guys, trying to equate a cellphone camera with a DSLR camera is a joke. Show me a cellphone camera that comes with a manual zoom ring, lol.

That said, modern cellphone cameras are amazeballs, and their real beauty is in their 'snap and forget' ease. If you're seriously buying a cellphone just because its camera has manual settings, however, I suggest you rather invest in carrying around a compact pro-level camera instead. Control is nothing without quality ;)
