LG G4

it is sounding like the MM is your issue.

but there have been a few cases of the WIfi chips failing, and I think there was on in this thread...
guy got his phone replaced if I remember, but it was long ago.

I have to get it back to the Vodacom firmware before taking it in ... they wont take it with this MM update :(

Sorry ... third post in a row ... I think I solved the issue ... Connected my phone to PC, opened LG Bridge > Software Update > Update Error Recovery

Although it said it could find no errors, my phone nearly immediately starting downloading lots of app updates after that, and everything is nice and smooth again.

Still downloading the LP kdz file just to have it ready if needed though.

I updated my H815p to Marshmallow 6.0 using the LGup utility the first time I flashed I selected update only option. During use I was getting unusual drain so I retried and this time opted for refurbish option which I believe is the fresh install option, and still only get 55 min screen on time. Android OS is keeping the device awake all the time. What can I try to solve this. or should I just roll back. The option I used is mentioned on page 106

Maybe the problem is related to flashing the 'P' version which I think is for some eastern Asian version. I'm also on marshmallow and have done a second format(have had MM for 2 weeks) to see if I can get passed 2hours SOT. Phone is lasting me till 3PM with the update. Will test it out for a couple more days and see if going back to LL is possible.

I'm currently due for an upgrade, but in two minds. I have a G2, which has served me amazingly well. How far away is the G5? Would the G4 still be a worthwhile upgrade. Still seems like good value on paper and I'll be saving a bit of cash over the 24 months due to it not being brand spanking new anymore. Thoughts?

If I was in your spot I will wait to see the G5 specs, but if it uses the SD820 and a finger print scanner. I would probably jump for it.

Thoughts?

Wait for the 5G so that prices on the g4 drop, then get the g4? I think the 4g came out in April so the G5 would probably also appear around then.

The G5 will probably have a fingerprint sensor with a bag of other tricks.

Prices on the g4 are pretty bad atm. Not too long ago they went for about 6k (leather brown) and I see they are now over 8k from Orange (probably because of the current exchange rate).

LG slipped us a cryptic invitation – "Play begins, Barcelona February 21." What is it? We don't know officially, but we'll give it a few guesses.
Hopefully it comes with a fingerprint reader. Cannot wait.

Anyone know where I can get stock 5.1.1 lollipop Rom for H815P (from MTN) the battery life on marshmallow is really bothering me. I think I should just revert to 5.1.1

In the exact same boat as you. The price is swaying the G4 heavily in my favour. I will be upgrading from a S3 so the phone will be plenty fine for me for the next 2 years I feel. Wont be able to wait till April though as my S3 is giving me plenty issues to upgrade asap.

G4 is awesome, you won't go wrong, but if you can hold out another 5-6months... the G5 should kinda be available then.

I can't find MTN on the international spreadsheet of ROMS
