LG G4

So you did a SIM swap just for the week? :wtf: And then SIM swapped back?

No, we used the phones as is, both long time friends so had no issue giving him my number etc as we don't have melicious intents, also used it primarily on the WiFi, I do all my business, like calls etc from the Gobi, the s6 is just leasure.

And things like whatsapp? bank notifications? etc.

All my sims are Nano. I have Nano to Micro and Micro to Standard adapters.

o that's cool. everytime i do an upgrade I do at least 1 sim swap. Like when I got the G4, I had to sim swap my own, and my wife's numbers. I had to get a micro from my nano, and she had to get a nano from her micro. Maybe I'll invest in an adapter next time. lol

Jeez, I go away for one weekend and Piesang and Foxhound starts arguing with themselves... jirre, really confusing when both have the same avatar :D

I've had both phones... so maybe I should be the one judging which one is "better".

Out of interest , have you formed a personal preference between the lg g4 and the S6 edge after using them both?

To be very honest, it's a tough choice. I've gotten so used to the way that samsung do things over the years, and that's why I've decided to change to the G4. So I can still reap all the benefits of Android, but have something fresh and new to look at.

If I had to pick again, between the two, I would pick the G4 at this stage. Probably because it still have a new feel to it. But there are somethings which I have discovered are not in the G4, that the S6 has. But these are just smaller software nuances and can easily be fixed.

One of them, for example, is the lack of complete silent mode. The S5 had this at the beginning of the Lollipop roll out, and was added in a later release. Issue still seems to be present on the LG. (Other G4 owners, tell me if I'm missing something here?)

You mean complete, as in no tones and no vibrate?

Picked up mine on Saturday too. First time in 7 years or so that I don't have an HTC of some flavour in my pocket.

Initial impressions are positive. I like the leather back; it's different without being daft. The screen could be brighter in direct sunlight, but it's very crisp and colour reproduction seems quite natural. I miss the One's dual front speakers, but the one the LG has is impressively loud and clear.

On a spec-by-spec assessment the two S6s have it beat by varying margins, I suppose, but I'm quite sure it's not by enough to make a difference in day to day usage. 'Sides, the value proposition on the G4 is what swung me. Capable hardware at a (relatively) reasonable monthly cost, with a free 32GB SD card...

Its 3:13pm and my G4 is sitting on 83% battery. I have played around quite a bit with it. Took it off the charger at 7:30.
I am impressed.

Took mine off charge at 8am. Had a busy day, so not much playing, but 2 phone calls and a fair amount of, telegram, one whatsapp and a bit of hangouts usage. Watched a YouTube vid, and updated apps over WiFi.

Battery sitting at 69%

I'll add a screenshot of battery usage just now.

Once the phone gets settled in, it's amazing.

I don't see how the s6 compares. There is just too much touch wiz eating Battery and storage space.

In January when the s6 users have no space left and need the battery replaced due to overcharging we can laugh at them, change SD cards and swop out batteries

Good to see some real world usage figures, they look much better than the benchmarks would suggest. There are something odd about the benchmark results out there on reviews? Definitely think this is my next phone too, just for the camera and as long as the battery gets through a day with ease.
