Samsung screens have tons of bang but aren't very accurate either. It's like they are using unreasonable contrast settings to get the bang because lighter colours will almost shift to white whereas darker ones stay almost unseeably dark even at max brightness. At least that's what it's like on my Galaxy S4 Mini (which may not have the best Samsung screen though of course). They don't look subdued though I'll give you that.
You are right. Not very accurate, but god damn it looks good... too good.
I actually enjoy the G4 screen where the colours are almost not as "harsh" (if that's the right word) as the S6.
Am I right in assuming that we can't flash Germany's ROM as easily as what I could've done on my Samsung?

Under the Android settings, under Display do you guys have a white balance setting? Or just brightness control and font size\type?
just brightness on mine
I think that's the latest version for us. Mine is also on that version. Not sure why you were 2 versions back...
Your baseline is set higher than mine, so its not that.
I understood your problem to be that in dark rooms it dims too much. and vice versa.
Are you sure you aren't covering the sensor at the top of your phone by accident?
