LG G4

Hi guys,

Okay so the only place that still does warranty repairs for LG does seem to be Xecutronix, question when they do the repair does the phone come back completely stock? As in do you lose everything? As it's technically just the ram chip that's lost contact so they'd just have to reball that. I'm guessing it would be so as they'd have to replace the whole mainboard, which probably contains the rom chip.

Yes, you lose everything, I gave them my phone without my mem card though, the receptionist told me if I took my mem card they could have backed up my stuff.

hmm so give them a memcard you don't mind them filling up cool :-)

my G4 is now 20 months old and the battery is taking on less charge now - does this tie in with what others have experienced?

Where would be best place to buy OEM battery in Pretoria area?

My battery would charge to 100% but you just look at it funny and it'd drop, I'm using our spare Redmi Note 2, which doesn't have the greatest battery either and at 6 hours into it it's only at 68% where as my G4 would be at 30.

OK, so it sounds normal, thanks guys!

Yes, mine drops faster from 100% and when it's nearly empty - have been left stranded for the 1st time last week

I just googled for a battery, and takealot have for R249, but it doesn't seem to be the OEM battery :-(

Couldn't find any other places....

Nah it's one from Raztech that is also twice the size but it doesn't have nfc.

Charles at Let's Trade Mobile in Montana Park has got OEM batteries. Also official LG repair centre.

Awesome. Will give him a shout next week to arrange it.

Wife's G4 just lying in the cupboard for months now. Was actually too lazy to look around for somebody to fix it.

Okay so looks like i'll have to take a trip to Edenvale, but I'm not in a rush as I got myself a Redmi Note 3 in the mean time and so far, I actually prefer it, the battery actually lasts, it doesn't get hot, it doesn't hang. The only things I miss are tap the screen and the camera.

got a price for the battery from Let's Trade Mobile...... R490 :wtf:
They don't presently have stock, but I'm considering testing the cheaper one from Takealot

Paid R250 in October last year

My phone's screen is heating up, the image burns in? Not sure if that's the right explanation. The corners of my phone go kinda red-ish. I got a message saying I'm due for an upgrade. This is the only reason except for the battery that I'd even consider replacing my phone. Anyone know how to fix it?

You'll have to get it repaired, after that it will either bootloop or just not turn on.
Honestly not having the G4 has made me see what I had to put up with. I can play games without my hand getting hot, battery running flat in a few minutes.

Oh lovely, thanks. Not keen on paying R550+ for a G6 so I don't know where to go from here :/
