I haven't ever loaded a custom ROM on my G4 but keen to try one now.

There is a bunch of Vodacom crap preloaded and I'd like to get that off.

You won't be able to unless you follow the rather complicated method of breaking the boot loader.

Yeah im feeling confident now...

Next, maybe I'll give this a go... looks hectic. Its certainly not as straight forward as was on my old samsung device.

aaah... i think its cos its from the poland beta.

Not sure if it can be spoofed or not, but you can always go back to 6.0 using LG UP

Standby battery drain on this build is pretty good tho.

Very good so a root + build.prop edit to get certified again seems like a better option than downgrading. My G4 runs so well now.

I see on Aliexpress the LG G4 is going for less than R1000 and they have 5 versions of the device. US, EU, H818 dual.

Actually thinking of getting a dual one. It's a dual sim g4 and supports all sa bands including telkom band 40 which is nice.

I left my g4 charging over a weekend when I was away and for some reason the screen was on the whole weekend. I now have a battery charging burnin on my screen...
My battery is also pretty done probably due to all the quick charging and the age.

New screen+frame assembly is R280 aliexpress and a battery is like R80.

I think the G4 has passed the point of replacing genuine part as the value is just too low and new genuine parts are still expensive.


As far as I know screen burn in can't be fixed you need to replace the screen.

Comparing the price I stll think the G4 is a decent phone actually. R850 gives you a device with a qhd screen, qc 2.0 and 3gb RAM. Pretty happy with my G4 still.
