LG G4

Not sure the h815 is the same as the h815p
H815P is locked. The time has come and gone for unlocking the bootloader. Nobody is going to start developing for such an old device now. If you have a G4 upgrade time should be around now so sell and upgrade I say.

pretty much so, although if you don't want to root that device, I can say its still a decent phone in 2018. Still a nice handset, and you can pick it up for cheap, and still a better buy for all the other crappy phones you see out there.

In my time with the G4 it was just the battery that was really weak. Other than that it was fine. Cheap alternatives would be Xiaomi (Redmi) Note 5 / Mi6 atm.

Yeh, but the nice thing it Still has a removable battery. :) lol

Im on contract yes and due for upgrade. But my G4 hasnt given any problems.

Besides lacking updates, i really have no qualms. So im gonna keep it till its dies
Same here. Still a very capable phone. And still better than most midrange phones out there now.

No updates in 2 years and thats after the last update total screwed the battery life. Otherwise it's an okay phone, it's been dropped dozens of times and still works

Has anybody had the problem that every time the phone starts, it gets stuck for about 10 minutes displaying:
"Android is starting...
Optimising app 1 of 1............."?

I tried to google, but seems like a factory reset/restore is the only option :(

has the phone eventually booted up?

if not then you've achieved the bootloop... congrats, your G4 is now a paperweight

if still under warantee then you can have it fixed no charge. just search this thread. If not, i think there's a nominal fee.

Could you please check under your battery and confirm the 1st 3 digits of your serial number... it should be 5xx or 6xx

No, fortunately it does start up after about 10 minutes and is then fine - my phone has had the bootloop and was repaired under warranty - I'm now busy loading a two month old backup...... will see what happens........

This really was a PoS of a phone thanks to LG's not releasing any updates.

OUCH! 10mins.... thats painful buddy.

backup your data and try a factory reset. I hope it works.

It could be time to move on

Mine's is starting to slow down in general use, but no bootup time problems. I'll be doing a back up and factory reset over the long weekend. hopefully it will be freshened up a bit.

my G4 has actually been working quite well all along, but I suspect one of my apps has caused this and I'll be fooked if I know which one :(

I'm too stupid with this stuff to risk rooting it..... :)
