LG G5

If you really want the camera features and 'Friends' go for this phone. Otherwise there is no real reason to choose this over an S7 / S7E
 
Poor build quality. Misaligned lines and gaps between body and base. Collecting of pocket lint. Chipping paint. Lack of availability of friends.

Also the V10 would be cheaper and still better in every department except processor.

The G5 is a very, very hard sell in my book for an informed buyer.

Such a pity the v10 never came to south africa. Would deff have gotten one

It was such a disappointment to me.

I loved my G2, G3 had a bit of lag and got an S6 Edge at the time I wanted the G4.

I almost got the G4 and would still like to try one out someday. The G5 on the other hand, I won't bother trying

I chose the G4 over the S6E. My biggest disappointment with this is that the bootloader is locked. Otherwise I'm really happy with it. The curve and feel in the hand is really great. Also LG has some neat features like the tap to wake/sleep and notification shade pull down/up.

Perhaps the V10 successor is the Droid we are looking for...

It was an emotional decision to take the S6 Edge. Cost me an extra R2k at the time but has to be the most beautiful phone I've ever had. Resale value was also one of my motivational factors as I don't keep a phone for long.

I don't see myself getting another Android anytime soon though. Maybe next year
 
Got my G5 through MTN today.

So far, I'm very impressed. It's really quick and the screen is incredibly vibrant.

Also, the build quality seems solid and I'm not experiencing any of the issues that people were complaining about in reviews. There is no screen bleed, no massive gap at the bottom and no hiss from the audio jack.

I came from the LG G2 and, so far, the G5 seems like an upgrade in every department. The biggest difference has to be the bottom speaker though. The G5 is much much louder.

I still like my G2 and the battery is still excellent for a phone that's three years old but its getting a bit sluggish and it was time for an upgrade.

Just got home and unboxed ( sorry no unboxing vid :P )

Got it on charge now, will setup a bit later as I still need to activate my Nano SIM Card for it...

Hey.

Did you get a micro USB to USB type C converter with yours? I saw in some of the unboxing videos that these came together with the extra charging dock but I never got one.

Nope, no converter, just the cable.
 
What are the stock ear buds like, the G4's were rather good and full controls?
 
I just got the G5 through MTN yesterday, and when I opened my google drive it said that I have been given 100GB for 2 years. But when I click the redeem button, it pops up with a message saying: Offer cannot be redeemed. This offer has already been redeemed.

How is that possible, since I literally just turned it on?

Anyone else having this issue?
 
Any feedback on this device.
Owners happy....... Havent seen any for sale yet on carb or mybb not sure if its because, either not many people have a G5, or they love it so much they dont want to sell
 
I'm really happy with the phone. It hasn't given a single issue and the battery life is brilliant.

Had it for over a month now and very glad that I went with this instead of an S7E.
