I don't think you'll use this phone for too long before it moves to your kid. It's a good fun phone for the youngsters. This is not in the iPhone/Xperia/N-Series league.

Yes, the moment you slide the keyboard out the screen tilts ... and the keyboard works great ... even for a Mr Thick Fingers like me.

No, it actually looks and feels very solid. It defin doesn't feel flimsy/toyish. It really feels and looks like a well made device. Nothing squeeky. Not cheap plastic. I've handled far more expensive devices that felt cheaper.
As I said earlier I cannot say how long it will last as it's so new on the market and usage reports are very fresh. Anything can still happen ... and we early adopters always take the risk. But for R100/month this is a risk worth taking.
It will be limited in that it will only be what it is out of the box ... no more. It's not Symbian or WinMo where you'll get 3rd party apps.
hmmm, thats the problem i had with another phone of mine. my wife and i both had the same phone Sagem Myz-5, ok granted thats a junk name for a phone but at the time we both wanted one with video and camera and for R700 odd it was a bargain and it took lovely clear pictures and videos but when we wanted to download the stuff when we sold them we could not as we could not get and software or cables for them so we had to delete everything.

You will get bored with it, quickly. If you're anything like me you'll battle to find a gadget that holds your attention for very long. I want a gadget that can be loaded with new stuff all the time.
yip you got it, and one that has features that you can actually setup and use. i use my phone to read or check my emails at home but have not worked out how to reply yet, and also using opera mini to read and reply to this forum too so thats what i would need too.
I will load MXit tomorrow when the new month's bundles are active. Others have reported that it works. It's got a browser on it and I'm sure Opera will work too. This is way way more advanced than anything like the e250. For R100/m this is VERY advanced.
With this phone LG is making a strong statement. Manufacturers can get a quality "full house" device to market at a price that many more people can afford. I cannot see anyone going for anything else for R100/month - considering that R115 airtime and 100 sms's are included. As I see it this phone fits Cell C perfectly.
Well I've been on cell contracts since the day it started in SA and I was blindsided only once by MTN with a 3G data contract. I became active on this forum because of that. We all will go through some pain at some point I guess. I believe contracts are safe - and one can do so much better going the contract route.
My sister got this phone on the control chat 100 a week or two ago, she was one of the firsts to get it. Hers also came with a 1GB micro sd. The screen is capacitive which is really nice, although it does seem like a waste to only make it for the dialing.
