LG Laptops? Thoughts & experiences?

Well thanks guys I bought the LG today...

And as an added bonus the advert was incorrect and it does have 1Gb of RAM, so very good price for this spec I reckon!

So far it looks good. Only thing that is a bit dissapointing is that I have to try and get XP Pro onto it as I need it for work. Currently has Vista Business which looks good. Bloody work! ha ha.

I am looking at perhaps trying to set up a dual boot but looking online I may have issues...

I tried to create a partition now but when I install my XP disk the "Install" option is greyed out. Is this because I have a SATA drive and XP does not recognise it (read something of the sort online)? If so how do I overcome this?

You can create/modify partitions and multi-OS boots without loosing data with
Acronis Disc Director. There is a discounted version on sale for $39.99
usual price $49.99 - Google for it, it's a 50MB download after that.

There is also a solution from Norton/Symantec called Partition Magic 8. However PM8 crashes sometimes
with weird errors, I'd go with the former.

Hmmm created a partition now (Vista allows the creation through "expanding" and "shrinking") but when I try to install XP it won't allow me as it says the version of Windows I have is newer than the one I want to install....

Now what?

It appears I may need to install XP first and then Vista.

But when I tried to install XP from the disk I had with my old HP (it did not say recovery disk...?) when installing it kept saying cannot find file xxx a number of times so I aborted and reinstalled Vista.

Any experiences or ideas?

Lancelot those work programs you need xp for.....did you try to install them in Vista but try the "run in xp compatability mode" before you end up with no hair getting that xp dual boot happening??
