Anyone know where to get these?

I contacted iStore and they said they don't have them in stock and not sure if they will in the near future.

Alternatively I looked at using Postbox courier or Aramex Global Shopper to import it directly from Apple.

Sit with the same issue, I knew people at the LG Brand Store in CPT, asked them and also the LG warehouse/parts department, no joy.

I have a Aramex account and were contemplating to order, the unknown is the transport cost for something with that weight.

Did you maybe get any quotes?

I did some calculations using the exchange rate google gave me.

13045 for the monitor. 1878 for shipping. 1826 for VAT. 140 for insurance and 372 for some extra 2.5% fee.
Totals to R17261

I've just never used Aramex, so little sketched out about that. There have also been some issues with the Ultrafines, would be scary having such an expensive monitor without being able to return it, or having to pay R2k to return it.

An alternative I've been looking at is the 4k LG 27UD88 ( http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27UD88-W-4k-uhd-led-monitor ), but I can't find that anywhere online in ZA either. The best option there seems to be that's available locally is the Dell 2714Q. This is also a 4k monitor.

I were looking at the 27UD88 in November, awesome monitor, solve my problems with a single cable going to my MacBook.

Importitall could help me for 20k, felt too steep, with R/$ the price were suppose to be 9k.

Wanted 3 of them, again worried about imports, maybe I should gave them a test with a 1k item and see what the timeline and funny things are...

At R20k for the LG it's not worth it. I would then rather get 2 of the Dells.

The main issue I have with importing the Ultrafine is that if something goes wrong you are kind of screwed. Sending it back and then shipping it back here would be a nightmare.

Wait a bit on the LG ultra fine, I see reports that some of them are giving issues when close to wifi routers.
Personally I won't buy something that expensive directly from oversees without any local support. Wait and see or go for an alternative like the Dell.

Other options:

LG 27UD68 - Similar to 27UD88 just no USB C so no option to charge your Macbook.

LG 34UC98 - Not 4k, but it's a curved widescreen so there's tons of real estate. Some people argue it is better for productivity.
