Liberty Stash App

Alright, i get it, the iPhone app is coming, Any guidelines as to when though? 1 week, 1 month, 1 year?

New features are now live. The first is Sunny Money - on sunny days you stash R5. The second is Smart Deposits - if you're spending less this month than you did last month, Stash detects this and sets aside R5 (with no risk of going into overdraft).

Define Sunny. Lol.

I also see that one can instantly stash R10 with the press of a button, that's pretty cool. However, I wish it would have asked "are you sure?" before stashing.

Also, is there a better way to make ad hoc investments instead of the stash R10 now feature?

'Sunny' is defined by Open Weather Map - the service we use for the weather :)

'Are you sure?s' aren't great user interface elements. A button (especially a magic button) should do what it says it does, no questions asked.

We've purposely limited ad hocs as we see what user behaviour is like - remember, Stash is not your average 'debit-order, complicated investment'.

Everyone happy with Stash?

Still waiting for that iPhone app :) but so far the Missus is very happy, she loves the save for a rainy day on a sunny day thing, excited about it everyday, although it barely invests.

Great news! Our next feature, called 'Sweat' links Stash to your Health app or fitness device. That way, you can stash R10 for every kilometer you run (or if you do 10,000 steps in a day or a 30 minute workout).

Hope you like it!

Hi

How do you check how much your investment is?
The app only show what u have invested.
Is there something on the app that shows that?

Ok i want to know how much money is invested including interest
Yes it will. You can even set an ongoing notification under settings so you can always see your balance in the Android notification bar

iPhone version?

He said it's coming in 6 months. Can you read?

Guys i have stashed 10 since last Monday still today nothing has changed my balance is still 50 free plus the 10.
This is not how investments work

Can someone tell me if its possible to check my real balance. Uf my money was invested it should surely show growth or reduction.

I have invested in satrix 40 and you can see everyday how much your money is worth

Please advise if there is another version of this app that shows this

The Stash balance moves with the markets (SA's Biggest Companies). Its value goes up and down. The value changes daily at 8pm when we get the closing price from the JSE. Here's the past growth: https://www.stash.co.za/past-growth

I'm still not sure I get it yet. Stash will "watch" my bank account. When I spend money on my bank card Stash will check the amount that I spent and "round it off" to a round amount. The difference between what I spent and the "rounded-off" amount is then invested into a TFSA account on my behalf - at no cost to me? So if I spend R95.00 at some shop Stash takes an extra R5 from my account and invests it into a TFSA account in my name? Total cost to me (money coming out my bank account) : R100?

And if I've already maxed out my annual TFSA contribution then Stash won't benefit me?

Is that it? Or have I missed something?

Yep - that's exactly right. We use the confirmation SMSs from your bank and (soon) the notifications from the FNB app to determine how much you've spent and calculate the 'digital spare change'. There are no fees.

Right again. We're targeting the first-time, not-investing-yet investor. Of course there are those that have maxed out their tax-free investment allowance, but those are in the 0.01% of South Africans.
