Life without caffeine

They say any dependence to any substance (even food) actually means something emotionally deeper. Something if broken is you look hard enough.
Some therapy might help..:)

Threads like these always remind me of my grandma...She used to drink lot's of tea and coffee, used mega amounts of salt, ate choclates, loved her meat with a bit of fat etc. She lived to the ripe old age of 92. The only thing she didn't do was drinking and smoking. I'm not saying anything with this, as I try to cut down as well, it's just interesting.

Food is not addictive at all. Some substances are though.

/Me cries in the corner.
It's cheaper to give up coffee than pay a therapist!:D

I may stop drinking coffee (caffeine), but you didn't solve the root cause to your caffeine dependence. You'll find comfort in something else - like ice cream, pizza or something.
I don't watch Oprah. :)
Normal size :)
Mine is bigger than yours.

I just have the one cup of joe in the morning - almost ritualistically - and a few pepsis throughout the day . . .or not.

There are few thing better in life than having a pepsi/coke with a nice slice of pizza. :)

He could also consult Dr Freud's theories on the various fixations.

Xbox and peppermint hot drink is my comfort.

I was recently persuaded to improve life by eliminating my addiction to caffeine. I didn't believe that caffeine was having any kind of effect on my life, but it seems the drug is more powerful than companies like Coca-Cola would have us believe. I Googled caffeine and to my horrer found article upon article on the effects it has on humans.

One example: http://www.relfe.com/caffeine.html
.....

but... but.. i love my cuppa joe in the morning. now you are telling me its poison.... :(

I don't think the problem is with the type of toxin we take in but the amount we consume everyday i meen what do we do when we watch the Tele just give it a few min and we make coffee or open a pack of Simba chips or something stupid like that and it's not like our bodies needs those type of energy when we are lounging ( hence obesity )

How i think about it is if you drink 20 cups of coffee a day or chow a Kg of boerewors for lunch every day you are going to have a problem in a few months or so
a good saying that fits this is " To much of one thing is a bad thing "

No need to stress cuz. For every article on the internetz klapping coffee as a bad thing, there are probably 10 others extolling it's virtues.

Read here: virtues of caffeine

and here: Benefits of caffeine

although you only need this line...
People should stop looking at caffeine as a bad drug and realize caffeine's benefits outweigh its downfalls. Ninety percent of people across the world have drunk caffeine for its stimulating effects. Caffeine is used in many medications and even has many benefits for just daily consumption as well. Caffeine isn't a terrible thing that we should quit taking, ...

Then brew yourself a dik cup of your favourite "poison"
