Seondhand is risky imho, you never know the SOH and even when you do like 70%, those cells are dead hence the advice of not using more than 20A, also no warranty:Even new cells aren't cheap though. 100ah is like R800 excluding shipping.
Dont get 100Ah:

How long is the warranty? Is that a good deal? Why not just get omnivolt from builders already build for R26k for example
How long is the warranty?
You can fix a diy battery yourself like replace bms or cell and set your own settings in bms with bluetooth. 16kWh for ~R28k. Guaranteed to have a long life.
Budget prebuilt systems are lucky packets imho as they have short warranties and if something breaks in a few years then you are stuffed.
View attachment 1908751What 12V pack? No doubt the builders deal is still good price for 15kWh.
Do you have a 12V PSW inverter? What will you use this for?Ag I don't know I'm like lifepo4 befok now. I just want to diy and play around with it a bit and see how things work etc so a 12v 100ah diy battery pack seems like a good start. No so expensive and only 4 cells so less risk if I do it outside.

Why would you want to do this when you have 48V already?
6 months I thinkHow long is the warranty?

Probably better (cheaper) to buy preassembled 12V 100Ah then as it already has a case making it sort of portable:

I believe the subsidies are being removed for renewables in China. BYD also losing its gvt subsidy. So prices for solar stuff might start going up. Especially batteries. That is a decent price. Those 300ah temu batteries really went up.
So for R50 cheaper I can build the same battery with temu parts and secondhand cells. Damn diy builds aren't really affordable compared to all these packs.
Arent those subsidies for EV's?I believe the subsidies are being removed for renewables in China. BYD also losing its gvt subsidy. So prices for solar stuff might start going up. Especially batteries.

Might have misunderstood it. But BYD and others are some of the largest battery guys so no subsidies should theoretically mean higher prices?Arent those subsidies for EV's?

Anyway, all batteries are made in China anyway so whats up with the local cheapies being cheaper than temu?
Hurry, only 4 left:Might have misunderstood it. But BYD and others are some of the largest battery guys so no subsidies should theoretically mean higher prices?
I only see one battery on Temu. 3.5k. Is that considered expensive compared to local? They used to have more variety but now it’s only one.
But note that the same manufacturers (SJY) are selling on Takealot. I suspect they just selling directly local rather than through Temu.

Don’t tempt us hereHurry, only 4 left:

Thats why you always see chinese EVs being advertised for so cheap in china, because of subsidies.

Hurry hurry, only R23k for their 5kWh.Don’t tempt us here. With my current setup running things at night and only charging during the day seems to be working well. Have gone as far as connecting all the plugs of the TV, pool etc to the 5kW.
Only bedrooms and lights are on 3.6 now. A second battery would have me running the pool at night coz why not.
Made some food in the oven.
GEL batteries are cruising sitting at almost full in the morning most days now.
