Hi I just had wireless internet installed at my house. It’s not that great since I am used to ADSL at work, but it will do.

I installed Lime wire and connected fine the 1st night. I searched and downloaded fine after I entered my proxy details.

I downloaded a few files and it ran through the night with no problem.

But the next day and today I just won’t connect. Check setting, firewall, anti Virus but still no luck, A bit frustrating since I will only get technical support on Monday again...

Any ideas?

BTW: the guy who did the installation said P2P will work!

Will im in Durban and the isp is netrepreneurs. And im on the 128k home package

I can almost guarantee that they're filtering P2P.

Most of these little Wireless ISP's use MikroTik RouterOS, which has this functionality just a few clicks away.
I've tested it, and its pretty good at what it does.

Check your contract with them. If the contract says nothing about it, and you can find out that they are filtering P2P, then you have a good reason to demand a refund.

These sorts of problems are normal for this ISP. live with it or dump it

limewire with wireless router.

Sup y'all...Okay I'm gonna try to explain what's going on to which is why I joined this forum.
I have a desktop computer with XPPro. With that I am running the internet through linksys wireless hub to which the router is in my housemate's room. I try to run Limewire Pro and when it opens and tries to connect but doesn't after numerous tries. I just want to download music, apps, and pics...and occasionally vids. I would appreciate anyone's help in helping me solve this situation and would very grateful for them taking their time to help.
I also run utorrent and a lot of times it doesn't connect to the trackers/torrents to d/l but my housemate has no probs since he is directly connected to the router. I know cuz I'm wireless that there is another way, so plz help me. Thank you so much just for reading this.

are you running through ADSL or a WISP?

your wireless router is probably not the problem.

i use limewire all the time and had the same problem in the beginning when i had my adsl installed.one day it would work and the next day ...nothing...i disconnected the firewall and was bombarded with virus. i left it for a few days and it worked again with my firewalls up. and its been working perfecrtly for months now. i have no idea why one day it will work and the next day nothing. its a mystery to me!!!!!!!!!

I have cable internet through Comcast and they always say cable highspeed internet so I believe its adsl i have.

You do realise that this is a South Africa website, about South African broadband.
I doubt you're going to find any Comcast specific help here.

I understand but if it's not my router then maybe it might be my pc set up and all...we'll see.
