Linden/Northcliff ADSL problems

Same issue on the Roosevelt side. Base has been there for almost a year and a half now :(
 
I'm in Robindale on the 888 prefix. I'm so far away from the exchange copperwise that nothing short of local MSANs in the Robindale area is going to assist me at all :(
 
So I logged a call with telkom about the latency, got a call first from a techie wanting to come out and see what the issues was. After I told him its congestion at the exchange he said there is nothing he can do.

A day later I got a call from another telkom office that said according to the logs, the msan on beyers and milner is schedule to be installed in June, but I must not take his word for it cause it changes all the time.

Could you PM that number?
Saw a MSAN was installed in Linden recently.
The stand in Montgomery Park is laying empty..
 
Spoke to someone today who mentioned that a planned migration to the Linden MSAN was planned for some lucky residents in June.

I must just hope I'm part of the chosen ones.

Anyone on the Linden exchange not getting higher than 6Mbps sync? I'm next door to the exchange, so I don't think it's a line problem.
 
Yup, I haven't actually measured.
But serious degrade in my line speed in the last 2 weeks or so
 
We have Fibre services running through Northcliff using our own infrastructure. PM me or give me a shout on [email protected] and let's see if we can sort out a few issues.
 
Lol I hear you. Even the LTE product when feasible is a lot more reliable and efficient than ADSL. It does not hurt shopping around at times. Even working for Neotel I realize that coverage is not everywhere and I would need to approach a competitor to sort me out at the home.

Same here, I am 2Km from the exchange. Attainable rate 15Mbps - 20Mbps. Sync rate 6Mbps.

When I explained the issue to the telkom technician he let out a little laugh. I think telkom technicians are well aware of the congestion happening at this exchange.
 
Was a planned outage.
Been receiving automated calls all week warning there will soon be a exchange upgrade outage of up to 48 hours "soon".
Went off Saterday lunchtime, back on Saterday evening. Voice and Data lines

Now syncing at 15Mbps !!!! :D
Used to be 10Mbps
But still only getting 10Mbps due to ISP.

Does this mean we can now get VDSL ??????? :confused:
