Extremely high latency after 4pm

Noordheuwel (krugersdorp) ADSL problems

For the past 2 months my latency has been revolting, reaching 300-400 ping as well as up to 25% packet loss after 4pm on weekdays and weekends, this is not the first time that this problem has occurred. Last year end of September, beginning of October it was the same as it is now... It took me countless hours on the phone to try explain that there is nothing wrong with my line and it is clearly the exchange because i am not the only one in the area who experienced this latency. I am not prepared to waste more time on the phone to telkom who just end up forgetting to re-activate my line after resetting it and leaving me without internet! I have tried to convince the technicians that the exchange may be experiencing too much traffic but all i get is a fault report saying my issue has been resolved... I beg to differ...

Pretty strange how my line is a 4mb and these are my results I would rather take a 384 at 28 ping than what i have now :L... My friend and I are experiencing this latency, he lives about a km away from me... and this is the lowest my latency has been in days...

I live in Noordheuwel. We are experiencing exactly the same problem. At sometime around 16h00 we only have download speed of 0.3 Mbs on a 4 Mbs line. I have performed speed test on numerous occasions at different times of the day and evening. Sometimes the speed test will not even record. Cannot make contact with the server. Our problem also started around May 2017. Prior to this we could stream showmax. Since May 2017 there have been numerous occasions where we could not stream and watch showmax. The best download readings I get are around 2.3 Mbs. The average I am getting is around 1.25Mbs there are numerous occasions where this drops below 0.4 Mbs. Telkom was here today (the fifth time in three weeks.) The IT specialist ran a full series of tests once again. Avcording to him we should never have been offered a 4 Mbs line as we will not achieve these download speeds. Apparently there is nothing that Telkom can do about this. . . . This has been a huge Frustration. The wuestiin I have . How come we were able to stream showmax before May and cannot stream since then.
