Ok, maybe I should not say advertising. But everyone is saying that Telkom did confirm the lines will be 10Mbps.
"...Local fixed line operator Telkom has officially confirmed that it will launch 10 Mbps package offerings in August.."

they are pretty consistent, so I am very happy.Update: Phoned Telkom again this morning. Apparently they need to hand this over to the DSLAM guys at the exchange. I am wondering if its just me having these problems or other people on the Kelvin exchange (erratic download speeds since the "upgrade" from 4Mbps to 10Mbps - Line stats are fine but whatever profile Telkom put my line on I get pings on Speedtest.net of 500ms and download speeds of 0.1Mbps. Before upgrade my 4Mbps line was highly stable and always consistent download/upload speeds)
This sounds exactly like my situation. I called them this morning and was informed we're on the Marlboro exchange, sort of the same area. I've switched over to my iburst 1mb line and it's faster and far more stable than telkom![]()
So to confirm you are having the same issues as I have described?
I am also using my iBurst which in comparison to my Telkom line right now is flying.
Update: My issue has been resolved. I asked Telkom what the problem was they couldn't tell me. My 4Mbps line was back to normal yesterday evening. I called Telkom and they bumped it back up to 8Mbps and so far so good.
Ice@Cool and doc_msk are you guys both on ADSL2+ ?
Im also in the Sandton area ands till on g.dmt
