Line Upgrade time

Anyone here know what's involved in upgrading a standard DSL 10mb line to 20mb?

I upgraded to a 20mb premium with mweb and ordered the telkom line upgrade on monday a.m. They told me it would take 24-48 hours. I called back on Wednesday and they told me it takes 24-72 hours. Today they say it takes 24-48 hours, but can take up to 7 days :-(

My ISP is billing me for the 20Mb package now.

How long do these things actually take?

depends on telkom sometimes a day sometimes 5 days ..mine took 5 hours lol

Can you not phone telkom and ask them to re-sync you in 20Meg?

I've been calling them every day. The support operator tells me "this is not a simple process sir. It takes time and is very complicated. It's not like just switching a plug."

When I asked which part of the process was the most time-consuming, she couldn't help me with that.

It might be that you are being moved over to 20Mbit VDSL and not 20Mbit ADSL 2+ in which case, I stand to correction, but it is more complex than just upgrading from 4Mbit to 10Mbit ADSL.

Perhaps drop TelkomZA a PM and see if they can assist.

Sounds like a chicken and egg... they were done out of order.... ISP's pretty quick... telkom and lines - not so much!
