Linkin Park singer commits suicide

Eish.
Still quite like some of the stuff they did with Jay Z.

Just Sad, I can't believe this.

Hybrid Theory, Meteora...

This is still my favorite track to this day.

Shocking news for me and my brother. We grew up listening to their songs

Hmm, the first ones to break the story were TMZ. Other news agencies just used their story. May just be fake?

Soundtracks to some of the best times of my life.
RIP tormented Legend...

Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for sights unseen
May your love never end and if you need a friend,
There's a seat here alongside me

Soo, I just read it happened on Chris Cornell's birthday and apparently they were really good friends...connected? :(

That new pop song, Heavy... bit of a cry for help? Also liked the old stuff. First album came out in my student years. Latest album was deleted 2 songs in. Did like his work with STP guys too.

So bummed to read about this just now. Still one of my favourite bands. Hybrid Theory and Meteora don't have a bad track between them. Saw them live in Joburg for the Living Things tour and it was way, way above my expectations. I did not expect Chester to do their songs so much justice in a live setting. He was so good that a few songs I don't even particularly like sounded pretty good in that concert.

If he was already in a bad place, the unanimous hatred of Linkin Park's latest album wouldn't have helped. Perhaps he saw it as a total rejection of his artistic ideas.

I get that and no offence... but why they put out that last album under the Linkin Park name, I just don't understand.

Sounds like it, he wrote a letter to Chris. They read it out on 5fm.

I agree that it would have been better as a side project with a different name. Targeting fans of a particular signature sound with such a radically different genre, particularly one they probably don't typically listen to, is just courting drama.
