yup I'm guessing he wants his music to be part of the greats
unfortunately generic pop music will never stand the test of time

Linkin Park is one of my favourite bands... They got me through depression and anxiety in high school. Even today when I start feeling something happening I just start playing their albums. Sucks that this happened but RIP Chester

not just the last album though, their last 5 albums were pretty bad, or rather: their first 4 albums were good

It's interesting how this affects you when you actually listened to the music when they were alive and now hear it again when they are dead and it just stirs you a little differently.
I for instance didn't really get into Queen until well after Freddie was dead so it was always the norm to me.
Chris Cornell though when I listen to it now it's just like it has deeper meaning.

it was popular wasn't it, that's the definition of pop music, it certainly wasn't indie or alternative
Linkin Park helped me though dark times.
sure Teen angst and all that, but honestly, I never did anything stupid because the music helped me deal with it.
Breaking the habit helped me break a really bad habit.
I am so sorry Chester. you helped so many of us though dark times. I am sorry no one was there for you, or at least that you felt like no one was there for you, in your time of need.
your influence will live on, for years and years to come. where ever there is a person feeling numb, getting one step closer to the edge, or feeling like they want to bleed it out. you will be there for them.
