I received a Acer Aspire One mini laptop to test yesterday.
It comes pre installed with Linux.
Apparently its the latest Acer laptop that you can order from Vodacom.

The issue i am having is that I am using a huawei e272 usb modem.
The laptop picks it up no problem but i am unable to execute the setup to install the software.
Presently VMC 9.3.3 is on the usb modem.

Can someone please advise me on how to get the ;aptop connected to the internet using the USB Modem.

I even tried manually installing the vmc software but I had the same problem I was unable to execute the software.

Linpus Linux Lite ver 1.0.3E is installed on the laptop

i had a look at the thread

But there is just too much code surely there has to be a easier way to connect.

If I was a regular customer that walked into the vodashop and bought the laptop i would want the laptop to connect without me having to put in all that code.

You do have an obscure version of linux. I would go with xubuntu.. I think vodacom have software for it.

Try that one out.. but Im not sure if it will work with your distro.
