After all the years I've seen CDE on HP-UX & Solaris I would be quite happy to never see it again :D

+1 Very nice! Care to explain the setup a bit?

Thanks.

Crunchbang is a Debian based distro with Openbox as its window manager. A right click anywhere on the desktop brings up the simple menu.

The Conky in the bottom left hand side is customisable and can virtually show any parameter you want including the weather forecast for the next 5/10 days and even what artist is playing on your media player. Mine is pretty straightforward and just gives me the basics.

The Tint2 on the top is a standard Crunchbang feature. It shows which program is open under each screen. I've modified mine to have boxes with rounded edges.

Edit: The wallpaper is an image of the Space Shuttle lifting off through the clouds taken by a skydiver.

^ I'm pretty sure he knows all that and was actually referring to you tint2, conky etc configs.

Thought I would take E for a spin.

The background is animated and modified A-Layred-Sky I stole from this theme
Theme = A-New Angelic

Overall I would say E17 is almost usable, just need to play around with it a bit more (Customize it)

E is something I keep on trying now and again and I can never get myself to like it.

With E a bug always crops up before I get a chance to like it.

I finally have made some change. Moved my home machine over to Mint 14 after giving it a go on an office machine. Liking it a lot so far.
