Linux Desktop Screenshot Thread

Think I'm going to start a whole separate thread with all these tips, so I can go back to something when I do another install.

Yes, the default theme is actually pretty nice. Do yourself a favour though, the Faenza icons are really awesome and look so much better than the default gnome ones. Just installed them now, noticed that they had to be installed as root. Just extract the archive to a folder, lets say ~/faenza then run the following

Code:
cd ~/faenza
sudo ./INSTALL

When it asks you if you want to replace the notification icons with custom ones, say no.

Once they are installed, run the tweak tool again and under the Interface option change the icon theme to Faenza. Then you have all the beauty of the greatest icon theme around :)

sudo: ./INSTALL: command not found

:-(

Completely basic since its a pretty fresh install but I do like it. Arch with xfce.

Not too shabby, Ulver. Looks super!

No screenshots for a while, so I am posting one of my recently installed Kubuntu 11.10 (Desktop #3)
In future I will probably no longer be using Ubuntu for reasons well known to most. :)
Current set up:
PC : Triple boot = Lucid 10.04 LTS; Kubuntu 11.10; Scientific Linux 6.1
Laptop: CentOS 5.7
Wife's laptop: Lucid 10.04 LTS

Boring I hear you say? Perhaps...but I think the cleaner and simple a desktop the more beautiful it is. Linux Mint 12...it is so simple and elegant I dont see the point of adding anything or changing the theme.. The best designed desktop for Linux I have ever seen.
